Just wondering if anyone had some pics they would like to share of there X-400 set up. I just finished installing all the electronics in mine and I cant seem to figure out how to fit the 2100mah Max Amps battery in there.

I want to mount the 401 gyro inside the frame next to the rx. The directions show it that way. Will this work as well as on top with the boom mount? If you have your 401 mounted inside the frame how does it respond?

I mounted my JR G410T directly underneath the main shaft. I have always heard that the gyro should be placed as close to the axis of rotation as possible. Although where ever it is located it should rotate the same amount regardless.

I had the JR500t under the main shaft and it hated that spot. I had serious tail holding issues until I moved it. I guess I was getting interference from the motor controller, or motor.

That is interesting that you got the 410T to work there.

J I have yet to actually fly the heli yet so I might end up moving mine to. I think im going to have to put the receiver in its place and hope I dont get any glitching.

I had issues with the 401 mounted under the main shaft too, the tail just wouldn't lock. So I moved it to the boom with the gyro mount plate and now it is rock solid. I just think it was too "noisy" under the main shaft (next to the motor and rx and on top of the ESC). Please excuse my wire mess, I've cinched everything up since that photo!

Mounting the gyro between frames directly under the top mounting position will not affect operation. It's the distance away from the mainshaft that changes the responce. I have seen top mounted gyros get injured by the flybar in a crash.

Where did you get the gyro mount for on top of the boom? I seen them some where but I can't find it again. I think I seen them for $9.99

I looked at the tower site and I came up with helimax motor mount part # HMXE7910 $4.49 Is that the right one? If so I will order it.

HMXE7921 is the helimax part number for the gyro mount. It will put the gyro in the same location as the "pro" version, above the tail.
