Lets all hope around the 850 mark...And lets hope for cheaper repair cost! I think that would help make this heli sell very well

I agree re the repair cost. The initial purchase cost is not such a big deal in the big scheme, but the ongoing repair cost is the main reason why you see people getting the Rappy SE instead of a VIBE or a Stratus.

Price

The new Hirobo Evo 90 is a great machine, and it is priced WAY below $850. I hope they compete more closely with the Evo sector of the market. After all, they do use a lot of plastic instead of cnc machined components.

Augusto and the Avant have taken repair costs to a new low. I hope this is the new trend for emerging helicopters. If so, then the Synergy should draw in the masses.

"Augusto and the Avant have taken repair costs to a new low". After reading that statement I went to their site and found $64.95 (each) side frames and $26.75 main shafts. If you like those prices, you'll be ecstatic when you see what R90 parts cost. steve.

while I dont own an Avant, consider that the 27 shaft is
hardened (the Hxbx one is 40+).

Just because a carbon side frame is expensive doesnt mean anything.

If its designed correctly (and the entire chassis), the
probability of having to actually buy a replacement is low.

and god knows I'd rather have an Avant than a R90

Kit

Is there an Avant kit yet or do you still have to buy a Freya and a conversion?

You buy a kit and conversion. He does have an option where he will supply you with both, but there's no all in one kit.

"If it's designed correctly, the probability of actually having to buy a replacement is low". This is really hijacking the thread, but the place I've seen frames break most commmonly in a crash is at the site where the landing gear struts attach. The R90 is designed so that these are sacrificial plastic, $7-8.00 pieces. Advanced crash testing over a 5 year period has resulted in only 1 set of bent Al side frames and no broken CF pieces. I haven't flown the Avant, but have owned and flown 2 Freyas upon which the Avant is based. I'd be happy to try an Avant when it's a complete kit, but the combination of Freya + Avant conversion and the cost of spares has turned me away. In the meantime my Predators and R90s serve me well. Thanks. steve.

why do you think I hijacked?

was my comment not applicable directly to what you wrote?

did I change topics?

I don't think so.

You tell him Z... BTW the Avant uses VERY sturdy CNC landing struts at the base of a carbon frame. Now I am off topic but don't speculate on the design flaws of a specific model without having ever owned one.

Oh well I guess as none of us really knows what Synergy prices are going to be like (or are prepared to admit to), we have to speculate by looking at other models and comparing.
Lets just hope we haven't created a big bubble of expectation regarding cheap prices that will burst when the real prices are advised.

- but parts close to Raptor prices would be great

The reference to hijacking the thread had to do with my own comments, not yours. As to Solarextreme's reference to design, I never mentioned a flaw in anything, only that the R90 has a clever design that tends to protect the main frames. steve.

they are hollow and hardened. $27 isn't bad.

tell me why the solid Hirobo hardened shaft is $40+

or other shafts (like the Robbe tailshaft) is mid-20s

heli

well, i dont fly raptors or furys but i have seen both and have ahd my hands on both. i have also seen Alan Szabo fly and talked with him about raptor helis. In my opinion if you had Alan Szabo fly his raptor and then had him fly a fury extreme that was built to his specs ( built with the equipment that he prefers), i think that the fury will SPANK a raptor. i also think that it is a better heli. The fury is alot better built and designed in my opinion. Fury helis do cost more...because they are worth the extra price. Raptors are great flyin machines, but it they were the same price as a Fury i dont think anyone would buy the raptor over the Fury. As for the Synergy...i cant wait to get one...reguardless of the cosr. I need a synergy and a Fury and i will be set.....and this is a hijacked thread..i know sorry

Well, one thing is good about hijacking it, you get to see how many people are wanting/waiting on the Synergy to be released. I too am hopeing on low cost for the kit and the parts. I am goingto get my hads on a kit when it gets released.

As for parts cost, harden main shaft and ect, some of the parts cost are high, but the funny think is, we as heli-heads wanting that Bling-Bling, pay for them. As long as we do, they will make them.

And I used to own a Fury and many Raptors and Vigor CS and I would think Szabo would kick butt with a Fury !

Just trying to hijack my add back ! LOL
