I've had a pair of them for over a year and enjoy the cases of fuel I've put through both, it's a very stable heli from beginner level to wild 3D, yellow damper upgrade for $20 stiffens up the head once the beginner gets comfortable, forward flight is nice, no porposing I've run the 3D paddles, Xcel paddles, TT green paddles and now have V-blade paddles on and the heli has always been very good in FFF.

There are others on this forum that will tell you it's a POC to get a raptor or this or that. All I can say is find someone who has one and ask him to try it, then make your decission.

I'm not into bashing other peoples products, I own 2 Raptor 60's, a pair of Predator P-Max 90's and I enjoy a variety, unfortunetly the Tiger is the only bird going to the field these days, we've put 2 gallons thru them this week alone and I'm heading back out this morning.

I's With Foxden!!!!!

I have owned TT, Hirobo, many others (see gallery) and the Tiger.....
When it comes to one FUN heli, the Tiger is the one.... it will go from Mild to Wild with very few changes.
If you are just beginning, it will take you from basic hovering right on up to full on 3D..... and the repair costs are nominal and the upgrades that would make it a full on 3D machine are a total of less the $100.00 that you can add as you need them....
I still own the Hirobo heli's and they will be going into fuselages in the next couple of weeksl, to use as my practice birds for scale flying....
The Tiger is going to be the only pod and boom that I have for 2006, so that tells you which one will be in the van all the time....
This is a great heli.... and I hope that you will give one a try..... I have not seen anyone come back and say they were sorry they did....
And of course there is always that "Tiger Grin" in everyone of the boxes!!!!
Happy New Year and good luck with your choice.....

Stan

Check out the articles on the web site. Especially the 2 MHT articles.

I have to agree, the Tiger 50 is just a nice helicopter. I have a little over 8 gallons through mine so far, minimal upgrades and I'm not ready to out fly it.
I'm doing an electric conversion of a Tiger 50 to use for a camera platform for a special shoot (Game preserve). As stable in the hover as it is in it's stock form, should be perfect.

Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off.

Audacity has 3 different style fiberglass canopies available. There is a thread here with pictures.

JR Venture 50 vertical fins will fit, the hole centers are 30mm apart if I remember correctly. I believe Raptor 50 horizontal fins fit the Tiger also.

As for the Tiger vs Hawk Pro, they are two different classes of heli, both are top performers for the dollar in their respective class.

SuperCobra,

The incidentals, canopy, stabilizers, etc, come after you've become an educated consumer.... Read the reviews...There are at least 6 out there, in this heli's young life...That ought to tell you how popular this heli is about to become. If you are an AMA member and you receive the magazine, open the January issue to pg. 120.. That along with Audacity Models's super "customer support", should be enough to help you decide.

I think you will learn more, and learn quicker cruising around Run Ryder than reading any magazine out there. JMHO.

I suggest that you look at a few helis. Select one that interests you. Download the manual and "pretend" you are putting it together and setting it up. Then you will run into things that create questions. Search the questions on Run Ryder.

If you do not see the same question asked, you can ask it.

You may also have the opportunity to go out to a flying field, meet the guys (and girls) and spend time watching (and listening). I wish that were an option for me. If you have that option, it would be a shame for you not to take advantage of it.

While at the field, look around for someone that will help you set up and get thru the first couple flights.

By the way. The Audacity Tiger 50 manual reads like a helicopter learning manual. I recommend you take the time to download and print this one. The set up tips explain what you want to acomplish VERY WELL. And more.

Only if the Tiger 50 had been my first heli.

Oh well. Live and learn.

I think the Tiger 50 will become one of the real BIG players. Real soon. From everything I have read so far, they seem to have all the right ingredients lined up.

Good product.

Good Manual.

Good Service.

Good Product Support. (read parts)

All capitalised due to importance.

Doing the Research.....

I think that Jack Skip has done his homework and done it well.....
This is one heli that will make you WANT to go flying, and also try things that you would not with others, because of its forgiving nature.....
But finding the local club and watching for someone that can fly that will help you check your heli out and help you trim it out is a very important part..... and it certainly makes things go a lot easier..... I am that guy at our field and have had days where I never took one of my heli's out of the van, and still burnt more fuel then anyone at the field that day!!!! But, that is the part that I really enjoy......
So, Jack, if you need a "set up guy"!!!!! It is pretty cold and white way up here in upstate NY!!!!! Will work for tickets!!!!!!!
Stan

The only heli that I know of that has a "grin" in every box!!!!

Happy New Year.......

Another early bird is up? Wow.

I am also that guy here, but for the planks. Trained about 25 people so far. Flown many different planes. And it is very rewarding watching someone solo. I still train. BUt would like someone else to step up now so I get more heli time. Cus I am a heli NOOB still.

Hey Super Cobra,

Do you have a simulator? They can save you lots of money in crash repairs.

While the Tiger manual provides excellent beginner setup information, Ray's book is a invalueable assest.

It will give you all the theory, setup and begining flight tutorials that, if followed or based on, your methodology will develop providing you with a solid base on how to build a heli, trim it out and fly it.

It is my reference manual if I'm unsure of servo horn angles, balancing techniques, building tricks..

The major mistake most people make is they rush into this. When I got my first heli, a Hawk Sport, I put it together and then brought it down to a friend who has decades of flight experience for him to check it over, trim it out and fly it.

He went over all of the intricacies of what he was doing, but he was going through them quickly to get it together and in the air. It was information overload at first, but after a few flights and reading Ray's book more, I began to understand how this thing works. I received more invaluable help from many members on here from all over the world.

Also, fill out your profile information so people whom might be local to you can offer in person help.
