Last night i noticed some cracks in the tailhousing of my corona.

I closed them with zap and a nylon straps
How bad is this ? So far i never heared cracks from the gears.

That happens a lot. One good tail strike and you can crack the case. Some say the plastic of the case, in some batches, is too weak. It happened to me on my third day of flying last year. I fixed mine using the same zap and tie and it held up for a long time after that. Best to get one of Matt's or Chopper-1's tail cases.

Yes, ComputerBob is right. I havn't seen Matt's tail case yet, but do own one from Chopper 1. I cracked at least 3 of them before finally getting the one made of delrin from Bret, at Chopper 1. I havn't had problems with the tail case since. I have the older version, which is closed-in, like the shape of the plastic stock one. Now, he has the open-face gearbox which allows you to see the gears. This is especially good for viewing the wear & tear on them, & being able to grease them without having to take anything apart. Later, Steve.

I have to say that Brett's cases are very strong and simple. There are no extra pcs to break just one unit and it can take a severe punishment. I've been putting all mine through the ringer for as long as he's been making them best buy for the money http://www.chopper-1.org/

I think LMH has changed their design, too. The replacement tail housing I picked up from the LHS yesterday now has a setscrew with a point that goes in horizontally (perpendicular to the rotor) into the cut in the boom. It is also configured for a bolt-on tailfin, and came with 2 screws for that. On the old design, I think that bolt that went through vertically from the top put a lot of stress on the opposite side of the housing, causing cracks. This one hasn't cracked yet under repeated boom strikes, and it was only $7.50.

hi the zap solution did not took long.
About 4 flight without a crash but the tail started to crack and shaking.

I have placed an order of 2 spare boxes and a gearset.
I hope i receive a new model. Otherwize i'm gonna try to reinforce the second one with carbonfibre wire and epoxy. just twist the wire around the housing ends where the bearing sit.
See how long that hold up.
