With either of those governors can you run two rpm's. I ve only used the gv-1 before and like the feature of 2 rpm settings. Can you do this with either the TJ Pro or the CSM Revlock.

RevMax can use two RPM settings. I've got it set up that way on my 9C. One is for idle up 1 and the other is for idle up 2.

Both can have a whole lot more than two headspeed settings. It is limited by your radio and how you program it, not the either of those devices. Heck, the Airtronics Stylus is capable of 12 flight modes and you could have a different headspeed for each of those.

I have the TJ Pro and use 2 headspeeds with the idle-up 1 & 2 switch. You can also have variable headspeeds by using a knob.

I have more experience w/ the CSM but if you get the manual
from rcmodels.org, you'll see that you can have as many speeds
as you want as long as all the speeds are within 2 of the 4 speed 'ranges'

You can also mix a knob or slider to the governor channel and tweak the rpm in flight within each flight mode.

You can only have 2 different headspeeds with the CSM,but you can assign them to as many flight modes as you want. You can only have A & B as a choice. DOUG

Actually the A and B refer to RPM ranges. You can adjust the rpm offset within each range as often as your radio will allow and have multiple headspeeds so long as they fall within the two RPM ranges.

You would need a lot of mixes to do it,with seperate end point adjustments. you couldnt do it with the gear channel for instance because you only have 2 end point adjustments. since you can only plug the aux cable to the reciever into one channel. I would like to know how you did it if you did. I use A 10x and assigned the headspeed settings to the gear channel. I suppose you could it with something like the GYRO channel, where i uave 4 different settings. DOUG

Mine is tied to my idle up switch on my 9C so if I can set it to normal, idle 1, idel2 and with the governor menu set any head speed within the 2 rpm ranges to those 3 switch positions. You can also set a mix to mix channel 7 at about 5 percent mixing with a slider or knob and you can vary governor by about 50 rpm or so from each setting.

Doug,
Most new radios have a governor function which allows independent headspeed settings in each flight mode or via a multiposition switch.

Bottom line is that the RevLock, TJ Pro, RevMax, and GV-1 are all certainly capable of a lot more than two headspeeds. The radio setup is the only limiting factor. For example, my number above for the Stylus is actually incorrect... Since the gyro function has two settings for each flight mode and you can have two alternate programs for a total of twelve flight modes (15 counting three throttle holds)... You could, in theory, have 24 different headspeeds programed.

As barracuda said, you could even put it on a knob or slider and have complete variable control.

re: 9Z

Thats true but it has the ability to have 5 mixes per flight mode.

I use one of the 5 to control the PMX (an OFS mix) to control the
CSM Revlock.

thats alll a governor function reallly is anyway... a dedicated per-flight-mode
mix to a specific channel.

On the Revlock/9Z setup, I have different headspeeds per flight mode,
an on/off switch function AND dial-a-speed if I want to fine tune in flight.

Thanks again guys, talk about a 10lb answer for a 1lb question. But thats good.

Previously I used the CH7 3pos switch to switch the rpm values bottom pos was off, second was rpm value 1, and 3rd pos was rpm value 2. With the GV-1 itself has 3 rpm values you can enter into the control box, if you enter below 1000rpm its off.
