Hey everybody...I just wanted to share a almost completed all carbon fiber flight tote box that I have been working. It`s made of all carbon fiber and it`s all bonded together, no wood!! The center section is carbon fiber with a honeycomb core. This box will hold everything except the helicopter. I`m using a small lawnmower type battery to power everything and will be adding a small power panel (Hobbico) and electric fuel pump (any sugestions?). Let me know what you think about my latest project.

It`s not real heavy (not sure on the total weight), but with everything in it you only have to make one trip to the flight line, less heli of course.

Fuel pump suggestion.... dont screw with over-priced hobby store junk pumps... go to your local auto salvage yard.. find a few .. Say, honda's or vw's or whatever... take the windshield washer pump off the cars and use them.... lasts just as long as that Mark X fuel pump... and costs wayyyy less.... this way, when it craps.. you go out to the spare parts bin and slap in a new pump... and your good for another 9 months.. I refuse to ever pay stupid money ever again for a "hobby" pump... besides.. they will refuel and also defuel.... use a 3 position switch and wire it crossed so the windshield washer pump will operate in two directions... just a thought..... Man, I bet that wasn't cheap....

I saw some carbon fiber monocote type covering in my LHS the other day, maybe I'll cover my wood flightbox with it to make it look like carbon fiber

Ok, along that same thought, you know how Chrysler has been putting out a "Woodie" version of their PT Cruiser. Maybe they should try some of that carbon fiber monokote and make a new trend. That would turn some heads! Would that be a "Carbie". LOL

Well to be honest...the materials were free. I work with aviation composites at my day job and we have all sorts of scraps that are just the right size for projects like this. All it took was the time to put everything together.
