What problems can a GEM impose? Is there a way that the GEM can be out of calibration so it causes pulses through the servos?
My issues all seem to be centering around my GEM.

have you had the gem when you first had the heli .
"a little search goes along way" and "copy and paste" works just as well.

The GEM produces a very weak RF signal. The signal is actually EMI/RFI noise from the oscillator (crystal) that runs its microcontroller. The noise gets to your R/C Rx two different ways -- [1] conducted by the attached battery leads and [2] radiated from the GEM's board into the R/C antenna.
The designer of the GEM expects that a well designed R/C receiver will reject the small amount of noise from the GEM. For sure, a Rx with a defective R/C Rx (usually bad ceramic filters) will not be able to.
But, I have heard of folks with brand new (never flown) Rx's that would not play nice with a GEM. So there seems to be some Rx designs that are best not used with it (or some GEMS radiate more noise than others).
The GEM is a nifty little gadget. But if it is causing problems and you are absolutely sure your Rx is not defective, then I suggest you remove it ASAP.
thanks... good infoThanks for the info... the question is how can one be absolutely positive that the Rx is not faulty?
I have sent my airtronics 92777 FM receiver and it's corresponding 6000 Super Tx back for testing as it is still under warantee. The thing is that I just received a new HiTec flight pack with a 3800 series receiver and 5625 digital servos and I have the same issues as well as with my RD6000 (standard) and it's 92777 FM receiver. The Futaba receiver that I just gave to a friend was also affected.
This is why I started to get curious about the GEM being either faulty or improperly adjusted... I just wanted to find out the possibility of that being the case.

already have...You see....
The GEM isn't the source of my problems... it just makes my problems worse.
Even without the GEM I still have a very "dirty" signal. I am going to acquire a frequency monitor to find out how much bleed over there is in my area here... it may just be a local problem for the channel that I am running.
I'll keep you all posted.
I should know more once my radio comes back from Airtronics as well.

Hey Cory,
Are both radios on the same frequency? It sure sounds like some kind of outside interference casuing the problem. Have you tried other locations? That monitor idea sounds like a good place to start. For what it's worth, I had a Gem in my Rappy and took it out. It was causing a cyclic wobble in a hover with a JR 950S SPCM even. Keep us posted.
