i looked at the site as per Crowfly, and per that, it is 1.7 at 13000 rpm. i was told around 4 h.p by an industry leader, but obviously he was mistaken.larry

Kinda strange. I went back & reread the manual (feeling quite sure I had seen 2.4 hp somewhere). On page 9 it states 1.71 hp @ 13,000 then on page 13 it states 2.4 hp with no rpm indicated.

I was told by Larry Bergen, my G260PUH is closer to 4 HP at the 13,000 to 14,000 RPM range. The Heli and Marine versions are not the same as the regular RC versions I think.

The manual says kW/rpm = 1.71/13000 So when you do the math it comes up with ?? HP. You do the math......
According to this article on how to convert KW to HP and visa versa...
Horsepower:
The horsepower (hp) is a unit in the foot-pound-second (fps) or English system, sometimes used to express the rate at which mechanical energy is expended. It was originally defined as 550 foot-pounds per second (ft-lb/s).
A power level of 1 hp is approximately equivalent to 746 watts (W) or 0.746 kilowatts (kW). To convert from horsepower to watts, multiply by 746. To convert from watts to horsepower, multiply by 0.00134. To convert from horsepower to kilowatts, multiply by 0.746. To convert from kilowatts to horsepower, multiply by 1.34.

I do believe it comes out to be 2.4 HP , I don't even think Zenoah knows what the HP is, but when you add a good pipe to that motor the power will go much higher, oh well just my 2 cents to add to the confusion.... Merry X-Mas

For an interesting bit of reading try this.

http://www.rctek.com/dyno/zenoah_g230rc_dyno_test.html

This shows some testing done with G230rc engines with various pipes. Almost all cases are well over 4 HP.

I think Zenoah is VERY conservative on their HP numbers in their manual........

Here is a link from Zenoah for the G260PUH and they show a different number, from 1.71 kW it now says 1.77 and I think the other number is HP at 2.4........ confused yet? That's why I said Zen doesn't even know the numbers. But regardless the G260PUH will fly your bird just fine

on the same page is the link for the PDF manual and that shows 1.71kW.......
