e-Robbe Eolo > Twist 37 going into hyperspeed

For the longest time I have been running my twist 37 with 3S2P TP 4200 packs, about 100 flights. At 100% governor mode on the Kontronic 40-6-18 controller I was originally getting roughly 2200 rpm on the head with a 14T pinion

Now I got some of the new prolite 3S2P packs with the balancer, and noticed an increase in headspeed. So I thought great, must be because they can dump more amps and all is good.

But today I was flying and it seemed that the headspeed was really high, and thinking it was high, I changed my throttle to 85% for idle up 1 and 95% for idle up 2.

Measured the headspeed at 85% and it was 2650 and at 95% was over 2800.

So has my motor demagnaitzed or something? I have never run the motor hot, has always just been warm to the touch.

What headspeed should I be expecting at 95% with the 14T pinion?

Is it worth it to have the motor serviced by Kontronic? I was planning to send them a speed controller anyway for service.

Your description of symptoms are on the money for your motor being de-magnitised. I have had this happen twice with a Twist 37. I would suggest getting it back to kontronics. Don't run it anymore as if it gets worse, it will cause the Jazz to shut down in flight and you know they don't auto that well!!!! Good luck.

Ok, it's coming out and I will be ordering a new Lehner motor to hold down the fort in the mean time. I have a backup twist 37 to go in it's place.

If I never overheated it, I wonder why it went south?

Any other suggestions for motor instead of the $250 Lehner? The Hacker 8L would do, as would perhaps one of the Mega motors Jeremy at RCHover sells? I like the power of the Lehner I got before, that sucker doesn't take no for an answer, and I expect it should hold up better than the Twist? Will it hold up as well as the hacker?

Anybody in the US got a demagged motor or a jacked up speed controller they want serviced? I am sending a bunch of stuff in, and you can piggyback on my repair order to save shipping. I think the minimum charge for servicing an item is 25 euros, not sure what they will charge for the motor repair, but I will find out as my buddy had his demag also and his is going in with mine.

My twist 37 demagged a while back and had the same headspeed symtoms as you. I sent back the motor and got a new one. It cost around 30 euros if I remember correctly. However I sent the warranty information in so I shouldnt have to pay (I hope)

Quite dissappointing in my oppinion. Well I got a hacker 8L and no problems sinse then.

got mine back from kontronic, 24 euros plus shipping to put a new core in it

Now kontronic 37 #2 just quit. My buddie's motor just quit too. I never flew more than one 3S2P pack, and never below 11V.
