3 cell li-po is the only way to go!!
I've flown Skeeters Hummer, it's gob smackingly good!
As for Li-po care, I'm an expert. Every Big Scale Heli I have is li-po powered, and you can take it from me that with Li-pos you can thrash, fly, thrash, fly, thrash, fly until it's time to go home! No pause for li-po cooling needed, just charge strait after flying, that's what I do even on my big helicopters and one of them has had over 100cycles on a first generation 5c Li-po and is still going strong!
401 gyro on a Hummer, that's funny but not as funny as mudflaps on a tortoise, that's hilarious! Love it Skeeter, Hi there Coolice, things are a bit boring in the turbine area so came here in search of fun!
All the best Bell Bloke.

Their painted, I also paint my tips white if I can as they show up really well in flight and look good.

I want to make some light weight night blades for the Hummer now. Would be good, cheap fun

Hello again Planehazza how are you? I'm still playing the 'Spinning Hummer' movie, everyone loves it - good work!

I just mask the blades and spray them with acrylic aerosol paint. It's a good idea to do one tip a light colour and the other dark so you can see if the tracking is ok - if it's out I just hold the root of the high one with on hand and twist the blade like hell anti clockwise (when looking from the tip to the mast) until they track together. I always make the high blade fly lower so if anything you are increasing the head speed.

I originally painted them so when I tried to fly through doorways that weren't well lit the disk would not disappear in the poor light, it's amazing how much you rely on the disk for orientation. But then I painted them more because it looks good

What does LMAO mean????

Strap those 3 cell Li-po's on, snip the blades and whip 'standard Hummer' arse
Cut the blades with large sharp scissors on a line parallel to the blade end, then radius with a file or glass paper.

So, I now have the basic V3 combo. Right now, I'm setting it up as stock to see how it is.

My first impression was that it seems unstable out of the box. There were vibration, tracking, and tail swinging issues.

I was trying to adjust tracking of the main blades. The weird thing was, the machine would vibrate like crazy when the blades are tracked. Weird...
I also noticed that they flybar paddles were out of track and misaligned. I fixed the alignment and tracking of the flybar paddles and now both main and paddles track fine with significant reduction in vibration.

Now the only thing I am having problems is with the tail. It seems very twitchy. I'm using the CN2022E gyro. I messed with REVO mixing and also messed with the adjustment on the gyro itself. Maybe the gyro just suck...may have to upgrade that.

Right now I'm using the birdseed, but I also have TP1320 2S. I hope that one would be okay.

Skeeter, I'll try the mods you suggested. I just installed collets on the flybar. I don't want to go further until I get my tail issue fixed. So, if anybody have any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Should I just get a new gyro? I hope it's not the Century RX glitching

Okay, now I know why I don' t like rate gyos. the CSM HLG200 just came in and it worked perfectly. I feel like dumping the stock gyro. My nitros use GY502 and my T-REXs use GY401.

Skeeter, I'll try your mod suggestions next.

If I'm being harsh.....1 drink too many...Happy New Year!!!!

balbs,
Why did you not opt for the 5 in 1 unit, it works well? Come on, those 2 cell aren't good enought for the Hummer although I was suprised when I set up a mate's new Walkera Dragonfly yesterday, he opted for the Li-po upgrade which was a 2 cell and a massive 1800mAh, it reved quite high with standard blades although still not as stable as my faithful old Hummer. I reckon the gearing must be different.

Happy new year.

Skeeter,

I was thinking of the 5 in 1 unit, then thought about the seemingly cheap glitchy Century FM rx that came with the combo. I figured I don't want to mess with another Century electronic item. At one time when I was adjusting the stock gyro, all of a sudden the motor turned seemingly in full speed and wacked my hand.
I will experiment more on the stock gyro. Who knows, if I get it working, I'll put the CSM on another HB my wife got me.

BTW, my wife got a little crazy this Xmas and also got me an Elite CP and 3D Pro.

I would stay as stock as possible with the v3 it's a fun cheap litte bird to play in the house with... Put all the fancy seperates on the elite cp and have some fun outside with it....

Tom..... No "D" flying....
