Swerling fuel is this a sighn of vibraition? At a full to 3/4 tank of fuel everthing seems to be all right . But below that my fuel tank looks like a washmaching .I dont see any vibraition at the tail fins, conopy or my C/F tail push rod that does not have any guides on the boom. The main blaids are funkey 550 glass. but I have tryed several other blades fron other guys at the field that say the blades are perfictly ballanced. NO differance the vibraition is the same.So I know its not the blades. Here is my setup.... HawkIV, OS32, main blaids funkey 550 , tail blades MS Composit C/F and never has been crashed.(knock on wood!!) please tell me if you need more info and ill be happy to submit .. THANK'S GUY'S

Fan....

The Century fans create a lot of this high freq vibration. My sport is doing the same thing. Balance the fan and while you are at it take the fuel tank out and shave just a small amount of the frames off where the tank mounts to "isolate" the tank from the vibrations a bit.

foaming

As explained by oldfart a while ago, this is almost always caused by too lean a hover (idle needle) setting. His method of setting the engine has solved any such problems here (on all types and models, not just the Hawk).

First one has to set the top end for a good full power, full flight setting (pitch and main needle at full power).

Then come into the hover and set the idle needle and carb opening (throttle curve more open or closed) until you have a nice "fat" (rich) and happy hover at the rotor speed you want. You will notice that the foaming will stop.

The foaming is a result of the high frequency vibration caused by the lean engine setting causing pre-ignition (very harsh running).
