| I've got it all figured out! Thanks to some help from Alan Szabo, JR and a little ingenuity I have a solution.
Here is what I wanted to accomplish.
1.Have a master on and off switch for the GV-1 controlled by a 2 position switch on the Stylus.
2.Be able to select 3 different head speeds for 3 different flight modes.
3.Ensure that when throttle hold was activated the GV-1 would turn off.
Here is how it was accomplished.
First I hooked up the GV-1 with the AUX rpm from GV-1 going into channel 7 on RX and the ON/Off from GV-1 going into channel 8.
Second, on the Stylus I went to the SW (switch assignments) menu, then to Aux2 (controls channel 8) and assigned it 6>and>5.
This tells the radio that for this condition to be “ON” (turning on the Governor) that the switch positions 6 and 5 must be set. So for me switch position 5 is the off position for Flight mode 4 or better known as throttle hold. So if I take it out of switch position 5 and into position 6 (throttle hold ON) then the GV-1 is turned off.
Next I went to AUX1 in the SW menu and assigned it switch position 17 (Flight mode N)
What this has done is it will now switch head speeds when you change flight modes, but if you use it “AS IS” you will only get 2 head speeds in the GV-1 “Rs1 and Rs3”. So to get Rs2 to show up there are a few things that you have to do.
In the SW menu, go to C-mix1, assign it 18. next get out of the SW menu and go to the C-MIX menu, under C-MIX>1 page over to MAS> and change it to MAS>A11 and SLA> to SLA>A1 Now put your Flight mode switch to Center (position 18 default) and change the L> value to -100. Your display should look like this.
C-MIX>1 L>-100% [A]
MAS>A11 SLA>A1.
Were all most done!
Now turn on your Receiver and your TX, on the GV-1 page over using the FUNC + key until you see “1600 rs1”. If in normal mode it will read rs1, in idle up1 rs2 and idle up 2 rs3. Now flip to the different flight modes and setup your head speed in rs1-3 on the GV-1. Now that that is all done go to the SWPT in the GV-1 this will give you an indicator of what conditions the GV-1 is actually on. Test the “ON” State in each flight mode including throttle hold (it should be read “off” when switched to throttle hold on the radio. Remember to turn on the “ON” switch to get the on reading on the GV-1. (Switch position 6 on the stylus)
Other considerations:
This “How to” assumes that you the reader know the basic functions and set up of the GV-1 and the AIRTRONICS STYLUS radio. If you have any problems feel free to post here or to PM / E-mail me questions or comments. If anyone finds any errors or a better way of doing this please post here.
As always constructive criticism is welcome!
