I may be from the "old school" in that I always have found it useful to refer to the manual when repairing a new helicopter of which I may not be totally familiar with yet........heck I even do it with those I think I am very familiar with just to insure my "familiarity" was not in error.
If you look at the detailed manual supplied with your Sport (refered to in the very first part of your Sport quick-build guide) and I quote:
" NOTE: We suggest that you refer to the more detailed instructions... if you require more comprehensive instructions or ever need to repair an assembly after a mishap"
In these great detailed instructions (by far the best in the industry IMHO) you will find the drawings etc. on page10 (step 11) and page11 (step 13) showing the configuration of the mainshaft and how it all fits into the mainframe. From this you should be able to figure out (as explained by ltaustin) how it can be removed from the top, simply by removing the M3 x 16 socket head screw from the maingear autorotation hub (HW3050) and by loosening the two M4x4 set screws from the Mast Stopper (HW3054A), Of course I am assuming that you have removed the rotor head for attachment to the new mainshaft.
Please note that I am posting this, not as a criticism of any sort but rather to insure that any reader, not familiar with the Century Hawk Spor, is made aware of the fact that they come with very informative manuals. That these manuals would be very helpful in assisting anyone in repairing their heli in the case of a mishap.
Enjoy your flying and welcome to the reliable world of the Century Hawk Sport.
