Soon to be released in Asian market, This is an all CF all metal 370 class heli, called Sparrow 3D S-Class. Here are the latest pictures from its manufacturer.

3D Pro? I have only "1D" under my belt, what am I going to do with "3D"?

I wasn't aware that a "New & Emerging" category was under the Electric forum, so I posted it under This Post

Here are a few pictures I posted before when the bird was still a "prototype"

Very interesting belt drive tail system.

Here is a picture of the latest revision of the head.

Looks like Duzi's Hornet II (MS700) head with full Bell-Hiller mixing.

It weighs less than a Hummingbird 3D Pro

Here is Sparrow 3D-S with a Justgofly 400DF motor (no Pinion, main blades, electronics, servos, and battery) comes in at 6.8Oz or 194g

A Hummingbird 3D Pro ARF w/ stock BL motor and pinion (no main blades, electronics, servos, and battery) comes in at 7.1Oz or 201g,

So the flying weight of this new bird shouldn't be much more than 400g if not under it.

Let me know when you have some Stateside, I'd like to pick one up and beta it.

It does look like a Duzi head to some degree.

Is the final kit going to ship with a metal head?

If so, this hobby is going to be great over the next couple years, as prices go down as the quality of the micro heli's rises at the same time. That's a winning combination of events.

Price is going down for sure since they all are "Made In China" now, instead of "Made in Taiwan". ( I always thought Taiwan is part of China...). I am not sure on the quality part. As I am putting the bird together there has been a few kinks and quality issues. My bird is still a "production sample". I will report all my findings to the manufacture and hopefully the "production version" will be of a "good quality".

I have my fingers crossed. By the way the "owner" is a Taiwanese. I am not sure if he is related or friend of the owner of Trex, Ark, Zoom, GWS, or even Thunder-Tiger. Hopefully he will do a better job than "Walkera", "E-Sky", and "Jabo" just to name a few.

I want a production sample too! How did you get one? It looks pretty nice. Maybe a better canopy, but I like the frame and head. I wonder how much it will cost. Probably more than $200 because it has an "all metal head" I sure hope its gonna be cheap.

Must have more POWER!

I heard from some where that the fixed retail price is going to be $256 USD world wide. If I import them I will sell for cheaper maybe through some kind of membership. I am testing it also in the process of getting some (a few dozens) "production samples". Then, I will recruit a few dozen beta test pilots and sell them the bird at wholesale price (<$200 hopefully). Have them work out all the kinks for me.

I have not talked to Mike Ryder yet. But if I pick a forum for this test run I sure hope to do it on RR.

First step is to get this bird in the air (hopefully by this weekend). Them find someone to 3D test it. Once it's done I will be ready to import. Unless someone else beats me to it and start importing, I will just stand on the sideline and cheer everybody on.

I don't feel like making this hobby a business, but if no one else imports it, I will. It looks great and is perfect for my garage.

Wow!!

This thing looks pretty sweet! Form and function all in one. What is the proposed "hot" set up. What about some AXI action? Where is it going to be available from?

That is a nice looking micro. I would love to help you put a "production sample" through its paces. I'll keep an eye on this thread

Just got confirmation from the factory. This A+ 3D appeared in this Post is just another version of the Sparrow 3D under testing. Looks like they are still doing developments. Will be interesting to see what the final product is going to look like.

Saw the A Plus thread, figured they were similar. Those mixing arms really come out far from the head, don't they?

Only thing I'm not crazy about are the canopy and landing gear legs (I'd like four legs to the skids, call me old-fashioned). But a bling'd out micro for under $300 is sounding competitive, the closer it is to $200, the more they'll sell.

Theres another one similar called the T-Bataar, its the same but they have addressed the tail input shaft problem (ie not being supported at the bottom).
BTW somebody said over on RCG that the price for the A300 will be around $299.

Lol wonder how long it will be untill we see the Walkera No.XX version of it.

Warning...This hobby is very addictive and may damage your wealth

Here is some official photo from the factory. They look a little flashy. Oh well

Update about importing them: The pre-production samples I have are way out of date. There have been a lot of changes since. Also the A+ 300 will be imported to our shore, so I have no intention of importing them in bulk quantity. I am currently selling Ultra T plugs (Deans Ultra compatible) on E B A Y and testing out some brushless ESCs that may be sold on E B A Y soon. If everything goes well I may import more hobby products and may include the Sparrow 300.
