I'm ordering my first 90 and it is going to be the the Freya Evo - it seems the best bang for the $ and some people I trust have stated it flies fantastic and is the best 90 around for the price.

I have a few ermmm, issues, with helis that some might related to, my logic goes like this: Well, if I'm buying a 90, why not spend the extra $ and get the best 90 going, the Avant.

My dimenia is, buy the Freya Evo and fly it and then go to the Avant later or go the Avant from the start?

I said I would not buy a 90 until I could do one justice, I'm now at the level where I'm noticing the limits of the gy401 and doing ok flying ability wise.

Any thoughts,EVO or buy the EFX kit as well?

replace "buy" with "use" and im in the same spot as you, i went the Avant route, have an x-spec for conversion and a freya 90. all 4 kits sitting NIB in my closet ;D havent even started building yet.

i already have an old freya .60 that i plan to get adjusted to very soon, also have a ys91 w/ viper head and sb16fh(in transit) ready to drop into it when i get to that point. at such time will i start building either of my Avant's.

Hi Dankers-san
I just went through the same dilema. Since having a Freya or EVO is the initial requirement to building an Avant, I decided to get the EVO (great reviews) and fly it before converting it to an Avant.
No regrets, the EVO flys great. I ordered the Avant kit today. I even doubt that I will notice any flight improvement at my level. The EVO is a very capable machine, well above my current abilities. I just had a severe case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and wanted, no needed an Avant. Crash costs will be similar, as the parts are mostly Hirobo that I will break.
My EVO is high spec with aritronics servos, and dual voltage reg, etc so it flys very sweetly. It blew me away with a hands off first hover, no trim required. I thought Rappys were put together with good tolerances unitl I built this EVO.
I am inticipating that the Avant will be an equally good fit, so to speak.
I looks good too. Function is important too, but damn it looks good.....
