Thinking if getting the intrepid 60. Already have a 9202 for the gv1, 401/9253 and 1900 pack.... anyone every use the hitec digital servos (cyclic, CP)?

Thanks!

I used 9202 on collective/cyclic in my Intrepid 60. They worked great. I know of another local pilot that also uses 9202 and he 3D's his Intrepid pretty hard. We both also use 401/9253 and it works fine. The only thing I had to change was going to longer tail blades. The 95mm NHPs weren't holding, but as soon as I switched to 107mm Modelsports the tails held rock steady.

thanks for the reply....im going to go wiht hitec digitals on the cyclic and CP, 9253 on the 401 and a 9202 on the gv1 (overkill but thats what i got left)... going to suck some MAH but thats ok, the 1900 pack is a SCR so I can quick charge it at the field...

should be a blast as my prior chopper was a rap30!

I have an Intrepid 60, I am/was using 9202's on cyclic, been flying with them 2 years, not alot of time however, maybe 6-8 gallons of fuel. I just recently lost the collective servo in a hover, I am going to change the cyclics out to 9206's, I think the 9202's are marginal for cyclic controls, on a 60 size machine anyway.......Coop

I've been running 9202s on cyclics in my Futura for ~5 years now, and for one year in my Intrepid, with no complaints. I've been using stronger servos on collective though - JR 4000s at first, and 9252s now. I wish JR hadn't disco'd the 4000, that was a great servo.

I have heard that 9202s are not adequate for collective with a 60-size heli. Worked fine on collective in my Concept SRX, but that's got to be a lot less demanding.

What servo was it that failed on your collective?

Nate...I have had (2) 9202's fail on me, both in my Intrepid. Last year I had an elevator servo let go, and just recently I had the one go on collective. In both cases it was the gears, I just don't trust them for the high load areas anymore. I have replaced all the cyclics with 9206, about double the torque and slightly faster. I don't fly 3D, a few loops, rolls, stalls, about as wild as it gets, so I'm not really banging the sticks. I do like JR servos, I would go to Jr 4131's or equivelent, except that I have the anodized servo arms on the Intrepid, to lazy to re-fit the bird with new arms and re-tune. The rest of my radio set-up is JR... 8103. I will rebuild the 9202's and use them on a 30 size with no worries....Coop
