You should really think before doing something stupid like that. Your dog doesn't understand that he can get hurt from your helicopter, so you need to think for him and tie him up to a tree or leave the dog at home. Animals are not to be brought to the field in the first place. Use some common sense when flying.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Dogs at the field just scare the crap out of me. Take off is not a problem, cos I don't do it if they're around, but when you're landing because fuel is out, what can you do. Normally try to land well away from them and hope they don't get interested as the blades are spooling down. Fortunately this doesn't happen often.

I always bring my dog to the field. He really loves playing with the other fliers kids. He knows whenever I get close to the field, you can tell by the way he gets all excited and starts pawing at the window of his seat. The kids get a real kick out of playing with him. But, he is always on the leash whenever any aircraft are running.

I lost my infamous tag line.

Dogs and kids (both should be on leashes) are like rednecks (I include myself in that category). They are attracted to bright, shiny spinning objects (thus the attraction of fishing lures, beer cans, glitter-covered fishing boats and heli's). Trouble is, dogs and kids don't understand the immediate danger of heli's. Probably the biggest reason that I really try to use the "buddy system" whenever I fly....one flyer and one spotter/observer. Even at an established and dedicated flying field, you still encounter the idiots who let their kids and dogs run un-supervised/without leashes. And, you can dang well bet that the results of any incident will be like drinking coffee at Mc Donald's...you, the heli-driver/owner will be the one who suffers the financial consequences. Unfortunately, there is no real solution, other than vigilance whenever you fly.

His dog is ok at the field now. Its been officially trianed. I think thats one dog that would be well behaved at the field.

Dont matter if the dog is ok or not. Dog's around people should be on a leash. Its very dangerous for the dog, he does not know. Also when others ee him loose it promotes them to think that they can have their dog loose too.

Some guy let his dog run on the filed once when I was landing and the dog could have lost his eyes or more. Thats just not cool at all.

i dont think these replies are really gonna go anywhere. I think he has already learnt his lesson, so its probably better if we stop putting him down.

I don't think that was the same dog I saw at the flying field. He had 3 legs, one eye shut, 1 ear and he went by the name of lucky :O) Jimmi

I take my three to the field and also they sit on the back step when I fly in the yard. Dogs just need to be trained! (kids too)

I spose a big, calm, well-trained dog might be OK. But I'd never trust a Terrier, they can dart off if they think they see something, and they don't stop to check for cars, or in this case, helis.

Reference to dog at field

I never understood people who bring their animals to public places ie; busy sidewalks, busy parks with children around, Rc flying fields. Its bad enough they use the bathroom everywhere, not to mention stepping on someones brittle RC plane. No respect at all. Ya wanna spend time with your animal do it at home in your yard, dont shove your love of your animals on everyone else.Have a little respect. We go to the flying field to get away from that kinda stress.

@ Gbrandt1,

I partly agree with you about taking animals to public places. I take my dog with me to the office because all 16 people like it. I wouldn't if one didn't. I take my dog to the flying field when there are hardly any people and the ones that are there I know they don't mind. (The dog is tied to something when somebody is flying and he doesn't run over somebody’s gear)

I think taking dogs to public places can be done if done with respect to other people. The same rule applies for a lot of things in public. (Like smoking).

So if you were at our field I would leave the dog home because you don't like it but I wouldn't go so far to ban dogs from all public places.

Just my 2cts of course.
