Stolen? Missing Helis or Equip > anyone hear of a stolen turbine heli near houston

I work for hobbytown usa and had a guy come in the other day asking if i knew what a turbine powered r/c heli was.... I told him yes and asked him if he had one. he then told me that he bought one from his friend that had never been taken out of the crate for 200$ and asked if i wanted to buy it or if he could trade it in for a nitro truck. It all just sounds a little funny to me so if you hear anything of a missing turbine let me know.

seriously, does sound fishy, all you'd have to do is plug the info into the confuser search engine and quickly realize that you should make up a price compairable to what they are actually worth....course it could have been a divorce sale, I got a load of heli's as a result of a divorce sale once for a pitance.....

Hopefully, you have gotten this guy's contact information.....

If so, contact your local police and then call this guy to make an appointment for him to come in to "trade" for the truck......

Have the police officer present (maybe a plain clothes officer ?) so that if it is not legit (which is probably the case) the person can be taken into custody on the spot.....

Given that it's a turbine heli (if true) then the value would easily place it into the felony category.......Though it would be hard to prove he "stole it", he is certainly in possesion of it (Criminal Possession of Stolen Property).

What would need to be determined, though, is that it is actually stolen and from who ??

that would be a hard one to stick unfortunatly possesion or no, unless there is a report with that item on it in that city that would be the only case where the individual would get taken into custody... and thats even streaching it as alot of the departments dont "talk to each other interdepartmentally" personally, its prob not a turbine...its prob a LMH or heli baby

i didnt think it would really be a turbine either but he told me the crate was pretty big???? I know who he is, he owns a buisness down here and passes his buisness card around. anyways, i offered him 500 for it and he said he would bring it in. I just wanted to know if there were any known stolen helis around here because if it was my heli that got stolen i would want to find it back. but if i get a legit turbine heli for 500 it will be christmas for me.haha.

Do yourself a favor and trade him a nitro truck! Hell if it turns out not to be stolen you can sell that thing for 2 to 3 times of what a nitro truck cost.

IMHO its a no brainer MAKE THE TRADE!
