basically yes, but i get all my bearings from modelfixings.co.uk

great service, nice bearings and very fast shipping.

just pop another bearing in the grip and use the longer bolts, also available from above web site.

I wouldnt recommend using two bearings, plain bearings arent designed to take sheer forces putting an extra one on just increases the load, I would go for the the thrust bearing setup

been reading and looking into it all it needs them bad as i tach'ed it today at well over 2000 RPM (hmmm 2750 to be precise @ 70% throttle) i think ill have to go a few teeth down on the pinion perhaps ill go for 21 instead of the 23 im using at the mo.

i think that i am going to go for thrust washers on the tail and thrust bearings on the head who knows i might even just keep it right up at that rpm.. ok just kidding.

i dont fancy having to re mesh the pinion though as i had to cut all the mount out out and make an ali washer type thing to hold the motor on it took me 2 hours mesh it when i originally put it all together.

right now i have just dropped the throttle to 40% and thats giving me 1700 RPM at 0 pitch and it flies better than ever still i have bags of power and climb rate... it climbs like any raptor 50 i have seen possibly even better.

i have put thrust bearings into the tail of the heli but the blades feel solid as a rock is this ok or do i need to loosen them a bit to get some play?

personally i think it should be better but id have to balance and track them all and that wouldnt i?

i dunno ill find out when its in a pile of bits in front of me i suppose.

cheers for all your advice

there should be some play, its designed like that, think its called a flapping hinge and help eliminate vibes and bad tracking of the tail blades.

cheers ill have a fly of it if theres any problems ill loosen them off. balanced the blades today and everything else on the shaft.

looks as though its cock on so if there is anything wrong then it can only be because of the lack of play in the tail blades.

cheers i appreciate all the help you guys are giving me.

Is it possible to get some sab main blades to go with these swanky tail blades i have gotten.

think im gonna have to go for white main blades now as the main blades look a bit daft next to the new paint job and white tail blades oh yes and the blades i have are s**t.

cheers for all your help guys.

now all i need is for the wind to learn its meant to stay out at see instead of stopping me from flying thank heavens for reflex xtr.

Hi,

Not sure about the SAB main blades for the ECO I have settled on MAH463 carbon which have a white root and tip and I think go well with the SAB tail blades, they perform great and sight well, they dont cost the earth either, $65 from fxaeromodels last time I bought a set

Hey Folks

Just started Spinning the SAB 440's myself along
with a conversion to 3S3P Li-poly, So far I'm loveing it.

Have a Hi Maxx 3618-2300 and 14 tooth to get a
1800-1850 head speed. Could probably go to a
15 tooth for more speed as the motor is not even
too warm to touch. At 3 lbs 6 oz the 440's seem a good
match. Heck my Voyager E flew on MSC 420's and that
was more like 4 lbs all up.

The ground came up and hit me !!!
