I had the little pin that goes through the head and the spindle shear off tonight. I have it apart and it looks like I could fabricating one out of a paper clip, but before I do that I thought I would check and see if anyone else has a better solution. Couldn't find this problem posted so maybe it doesn't happen that often.

Many people have used paper clips to replace it. Be carefull using other materials though, I tried a pin the first time I broke mine and ended up bending the main shaft because the pin was too stiff. Honestly for the price of the original part I would just order some when you decide to get some other spare parts. I think it's like $2 for 6 of the pins. At least then you know it has the right ammount of give so it breaks instead of other parts.

I have used a T pin to make the repair. I cut it about the same length and leave the point on it, it is alot easier to install.

I use .032 brass rod with both ends bent so it doesn't fall out. A little loose, but works ok. As long as you don't jerk the throttle, it works fine. Shears easily in a crash, doesn't break parts and doesn't put gouges in the main shaft which makes it so much easier to remove.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up using a standart size paper clip and it worked fine. Just put a little bend in one end and then snipped off about a half inch. Put in through and bent the other side down to hold it in place. A little slop in the head but about the same as it was out of the box.
