New & Emerging R/C Helicopters > Revolution review??

Are there any review out there of the new Revolution from heli proffessional?

Im thinking of buying one and i just want some inputs of all you Revolution owners, what you think of the heli!

Is it worth buying as my first 90 heli?
How does it fly? how is the quality?

I just want to hear anything usefull so i can make a decision of what 90 heli to buy! :-)

Thx for any advice here! :-)

I'm currently building my REVOLUTION so I don't have any flying info yet.

The parts quality and design is simply AMAZING !!!

Very well thought out machine that I expect will be easy to service and repair when the inevitable happens.

Everything is already upgraded from the tail drive to the head so NOTHING need to be added or upgraded later.

I expect this wil be a fine flying machine.

building time?

How long will it take to build the machine, with a couple of building hours per night if you want everything to be perfect?

It depends on how quickly you build, I guess.
Probably the same as a JR or Logo heli (which I have also built lately).
Its not overly complicated as everything fits well and is explained in detail.
It was a joy to assemble as it is so well designed.

I am putting one together and near completion. I am waiting for a few upgrades sent to me. Building is very easy compare to other 90 machines due to its lower part counts. The kit came with all the metal blings and carbon stuffs. It is probably the lightest 90 size heli out there. Most positive thing is the excellent service from Thomas Maier of Heli-Professional.

I will put some pictures in my gallery.

Dear Rick

O.K. I have no problem letting you test fly it. I am waiting for a new clutch bell and engine back plate from Germany. Hopefully will have her broken in next week.

My kit came with a missing back plate. This is the plate for re-enforcing of the engine mount like on the Robbe Milli3, and also the electric motor mount. As for the flybar question, you need to install the main blade and check the cyclic pitch, which should not be more than 7 degree. To do this, install the main blade, turn on your radio gear, zero the throttle/pitch stick, now full cyclic to check the cyclic pitch <= 7.

I don't think the fly bar will touch the canopy at 7 degree cyclic pitch.

I notice my kit does not contain the back plate.
In the instructions, it is shown in the pictures but not mensioned in the assembly steps.
Maybe this is no longer used?
Did you find references to the engine backl plate in the assembly instructions? Maybe I missed something?

The backplate is no longer used.
A new specific kit for electric motors will be available soon.

For flybar iussue I think it so not significative to check ONLY my cyclic pitch <=7 , but there are many factors to consider: paddles size, rpm and blade.

BTW the flybar can mechanically touch the canopy... and this is never good thing.

Sidex, I got an email from Prefessional Heli regarding some upgrades along with an illustration/instruction in PDF file. From the illustration, there is a specific instruction of installation of the engine backplate. I can email you the PDF file if you interested.

Regarding the flybar, you don't want your cyclic pitch to be more than 7 degree, otherwise your engine will bog(blade stall) in 3D maneuver, even with the 91. I have not check my setup yet to see if the flybar will touch the canopy at full negative and full elevator cyclic. I believe the factory who had put in a well design machine would neglect this area.

Duc

In general, flybar touching the canopy is common in a number of helis.

In flight it will never get there though.
