I actually had to cut off about 20mm from the pipe. I had to do this to get the necessary rpm and to stop hanging on the pipe. I already run a similar setup on a Freya 90 for many months. It runs great - very consistent headspeed aroung 1900 and very little bogging. Rolling backwards 8's, tic-tocs and sideways metronomes are no problem.
I must admit that tuning these pipes is hard work. It takes much trial and error, but once set it is so much better than a muffler/govenor setup. This is what I am doing at the moment on the Avant, it is not quite right yet. |
