Anyone got any ideas on how to deal with your blade/honeybee arial neatly. I have got mine in an arialtube (from a rc car) along my skid, but it still looks messy. I am very tempted to cut my arial, but I dont know what that will do to reception. What is the minimal operational length of these things - or are there any other neat ideas out there. Those micro arials are hard to come by in SA.

Do not cut it....

leave it as you got it (wrapped around the landing gear legs) or make a holder between the legs...saw pics on here some where of someone who had done this...but don't cut it!

ok I wont cut it, but is keeping it all wrapped up like you get it when you buy it ok, cause then I can make a plan like BeerZman. I thought it had to be as unravelled as possible to prevent glitches etc?

If your having problems with it glitching then I would suggest unwraping it( I had this problem which is why i had to unwrap mine), But if it flies good with the stock setup then leave well enough alone. Just my 2 Cents.

These gentlemen are right..if you cut the antennae, then you will screw up your range..I used a flexible drinking straw, happens to be purple in color, and put a tiny hole in each end. I then put the antennae through the first hole, and simply wrapped the remaining antennae around the straw until I got near the end, and then thread the little bit of antennae remaining through the last hole. I placed the straw with the antennae on the left side legs with a zip tie on each leg to hold the straw, and a drop of silicone adhesive for assurance, So far, no issues with range.

Here's an approach I have used with no glitches. The skids are not CF, just plastic and make a good core for a coiled antenna. As with any other antenna mod, range check before flying with the Tx antenna collapsed/re-tracted.
