| Food for thoughtI have a Venture CP, and can help on a couple of points you brought up.
Yes, JR will be coming out with a 46 conversion kit for the Venture. Actually, the ERGO 46 conversion has the stuff you need. I went a little more TEXAN on this.....I had a century 50 sized engine mount for a hawk, had to slot the mounting holes in the frame to use it (the one for the ergo would direct bolt up it appears) but I shoehorned an OS 46 into the stock Venture. Put a Raptor 50 TT pipe on it, and LIT IT UP.
The head is straight shaft, no thrust bearings. KSJ for the ergo went right in. I did this after 2 tanks.....had a bearing seal blow out on the bladeholder. $27 at your LHS. money well spent.
Here's a couple of other issues I had in the first 2 tanks........heads up fella's......I am sure it ain't just my luck....
Blade covering seperation on the tips of the stock blades. Got a replacement set, compliments of my LHS. Run a bead of thin ZAP on the outer edges of the blades at the tip, hit with the ZIP KICKER and they MIGHT stay in place.
Fuel tank outlet stopper: I run Coolpower 30% heli, left some in the main tank for 2 days, went to refuel and had a major leak at the stopper. It has disintegrated......and was a challenge to remove. Replaced it with the one for the ergo....looks like the vigor setup, scaled down. Will report back if it doesn't hold up.
Other than those common fallacies of the manual being right with setup...it has been quite a machine so far. It WILL haul the freight with that 46. An OS 50???????/ look out. I stayed with the original boom. Might suffer a bit with an auto....besides, the tail goes with the engine, so shorter blades ain't such a bad deal.....
Go get ya one, email me for the tip on how to get the pitch curves right (hint: its the smallest control rods on the head, and they attach to the blade holders......7 turns longer each........ )). James
