| Went flying my heli at the local field today. Lot's of airplane pilots also fly there. One guy was trying to tune his OS91 4 stroke on his Stinger when he he reached around to take the glow starter off and chopped 4 fingers right to the bone. Don't know if he is going to be ok. Blood everywhere. It was so serious that one of that members took off his tee shirt and wrapped it around his hand and you could ring the shirt out with his blood that's how bad he was chopped. Rushed him to the hospital and they had to send him to another hospital in Boston because they could not help him because he was cut so bad. (This is what the person who took him to the hospital told us when he got back to the field to get his stuff.) Put a damper on the emotions for the day to see something like that. I know that it is more dangerous to fly planes because you are so close to a spinning prop and at least on helis we have throttle hold to keep the rotors from spinning, but just a reminder about SAFETY no matter what you are flying. Be careful out there. I wonder if AMA covers any of his medical bills. Or is it only if you cause damage to someones property.
SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY.
