e-E-Flite Blade CP CX 400-3D > Main shaft bent again :(

Boyd, or anyone else that has done this.

I'm tired of my main shaft becoming bent after minor crashes on my blade cp. Can you explain the process or the level of difficulty in replacing the main shaft/gear with a century titanium one?

Also, does anyone sell this beside heli-hobby?

I have straighened one out so far but the last one was so bent I cut it to get it off the wrecked chassis (Would have been easier to just buy new bearings!

I Hate waking up to hear :Just relax, the Ambulance is on the way

Oh yeah ,I've had to cut one to remove it myself ,but that was because of the make-shift retaining pin I used. Horizon has the correct retaining pin in stock now. Cutting the throttle when you crash helps, it also saves breaking teeth. Somethings might seem to be a better idea and maybe a stronger product ,but it could lead to breaking more parts and more serious damage.

I always bend mine back until I have a replacement on hand. It is really easy to replace. I could begin to explain but I think you will have a better understanding if you look at the exploded view in your manual.

I've replacing mine several times already But now I have ca'd the lading gear to the fram (because it kept coming apart) and now cannot remove the damn shaft/gear.

Another reason I like the hummingbird titanium shaft is that it "appears" as if you could replace the shaft from the top.

Retaining Pin is to Hard

I had similar problems and was also breaking the blade grips on some "learning crashes". I found the retaining pin on the shaft is way to hard and never broke during a crash. I started using a small paper clip, cut it, and then bend the ends. My damage went way down. The clip fits a little loose but that doesn't matter, the idea is to shear before something else breaks.
