Two weeks and counting until the Mayrmoor Summer Heli Fun Fly.
The event will held at the R/C field at Marymoor Park Redmond Wahsnington. We will have the normal fun fly events and drag racing and autoing for dollars. Many of the top local area sponsored pilots will be flying demo flights and we will be night flying Friday and Saturday nights. The raffle prizes are beginning to come in and I want to thank HeliProz, Century, LiteMachines, Performance Specialties, Tower Hobbies, SR Batteries and many of the local area hobby shops for donating products for the raffle. If you need any info please call or e-mail me

I'm not sure about Thursday night RV parking. I will be checking with the parks dept later this week. The field will be open the all (planks included) all Friday. I expect we will not see to many planks flying Firday night.

Just recieved the main raffle prize a Vigor CCPM from HeliProz. The raffle is going to be great. Along with the standard fun fly events we will have an Auto for Dollars contest. The winner takes the $$pot$$ and second place will get a nice prize from the raffle gifts.

It looks like many of the local area hobby shops are going to donate a lot to the fun fly. Tammies Hobbies has come though as usual and Boca Bearing also sent some nice stuff. HeliProz went the extra mile and we got a Vigor CS kit for the main raffle prize. Websters Hobbies donated a $100 gift certificate to the cause. There is a LiteMachines Corona kit as well. We will be having a special drawing for the new pilots who have never attended a fun fly. The Auto for Dollars should be fun. It is scheduled to run for 2 hours on Saturday and the winner takes the pot and second place will get a nice prize from the pilots raffle stuff. There will be 2 classes for the drag racing: Under 40 CI and Unlimited.
Registration will open Friday afternoon so there will not be as much confusion Saturday morning.

So much for any chance of winning that one! Lapointe will break out that big block Freya again for sure!

Dave if we have enough 50's lets do a 50 class for fun. I don't care if I win a prize just want to have a close race to watch/fly....

Since the only scheduled event on Sunday is the Drags we may be able to accomodate. Ultimate Hobbies in Auburn is now on the list of contributors. They donated 8 gallons of fuel along with other goodies.

The cover picture shows someone hovering an X-Cell. Too bad it
wasn't Mike hoving the Freya inverted. The text on the pic is
"Flights of Fancy. Spirits, scale models soar at Marymoor".
The article starts with a small paragraph on planks, but then starts
talking about Mike Scoles, helis and talks about the fun fly. I'd like
to know who told him 30% CoolPower is $30 a gallon. The article
includes a map, directions and a summary of what folks can see
(night flying, noon demos, etc.). It's a really good article and nice
to see helis featured. I just want to know when Mike hired a PR
firm.

A friend in the office left it on my desk this morning. I'll bring it to
the fun fly.

Cool...

Just goes to prove my thoughts about this weekend.
GOOD PR!!! I expect lots of non-flyers to show up this weekend. Everyone put on your best heli shirt and your public relations faces
Dave,
I hope you have a bunch of "saftey" officers. I bet we are going to have a big crowd.
I think this is the only fun fly in the area so close to a major city and easily accessible to everyone.
I bet it will be alot like the Hirobo cup in LA. Their were probably 2 spectators to every pilot all weekend.

I'm still surprised at how many folks watch and ask questions. Maybe
we should have the answers to the top 10 questions printed on t-shirts.

So far I hav confirmations from about 28 pilots so I expect almost 40 +- pilots to show. Should be a good time for all except me. I did not get my radio back from JR yet and now if it shows up tomorrow I will not have enough time to do a proper setup for either of my ships.

Oh Well I'll be busy anyway
