How is this blades?
Does the heli more stable in hover? How they perform in 3d flight?

As an FYI, I read on another forum that the Eflite carbon blades can be a tight fit in the blade holders. Some users have had to sand then down a small tad. There apparently was some interference between the back of the blade and the head of the screw that holds the grip to the spindle. You know, the ones that everyone has fought with to make the "sticky collective" fix. It also seems to be a rather snug fit in the blade holder. The blades don't seem to pivot freely. A touch of sanding seemed to reduce their thickness for a better fit.

I haven't tried the carbons myself. I'm just passing on information I've read elsewhere, and can't confirm how accurate it is. When you and I finally try of pair of carbons, we'll know for certain.

MS Composit Blades on the Blade !

Try the E088 gel coated glass blades or the very cool, E188 carbon fiber blades. Either one will transform the machine for you.

Happy flying.

The eFlight CF blades did need some sanding to get them to fit properly. But the difference they made was noticable. I feel the heli is more stable with the CF blades. Even though they cost over twice as much as the woodys, I think they are a better investment since they don't break as easy as the woodys.

MS Blades on the Blade...

Better to use the woodies if flying in the house, don't ask me how I know, My wife's NEW ultra suede couch will tell you !

Formed blades, whether carbon or glass will immediately enhance stability due to the nature of the materials and mfg process. Far more controlled and predictable than a wooden blade, but, of course at a higher cost.

MS blades are used more than any other blade on a variety of Micro heli applications. Our fixed pitch blades are a favorite on Humming birds and other clones and now we are selling a great deal to Blade users.

Give them a try as I can gurantee they will NOT require ANY sanding to make work.
Happy Flying and remember, when you are ready to step-up to a real 3D performer, get a Hornet. After all that is who the Blade Mfg copied to make the "Blade"

THE ULTIMATE FLATTERY IS TO BE COPIED ! !

Happy Flying !

Hey Mr. C.,
That was just the least little bit self-serving, don't you think? There is a dedicated Hornet catagory here for you to post in, why not use it? But since you bring it up, I have had both the cp Hornet and the blade. Compared to the Blade, the CP Hornet was a fiddly, glued together piece of junk, that broke when you looked at it wrong and had MASSIVELY overpriced spare parts. I have 30 flights on my Blade and nothing has so much as come loose.

Reality is that a properly set up, new version Hornet will fly 3D better than a Blade. So will a Maxir, so will a Raptor 50. But that ain't what the Blade is about. What it's about is a capable, stable, great flying heli with a minimum of fuss. By the way, having had both, I don't see much similarity between the Hornet and the Blade.

Bill hit the nail on the head. As long as you don't expect the Blade to be something it isn't, it's a very fun little helicopter to fly.

the blade is a lot of fun! But it's not a 3D machine, heck it's barely an aerobatic machine, depending on your definition of 'aerobatic'.

I have the e-flight carbon blades. I just installed them and flew. No adjustments or sanding was required.

I didn't notice a large difference in flight characteristics, but I did notice that the tracking held true over many flight sessions. I can't say as much for my wood blades.

I'm not saying that the CF blades are not better than the wood blades, I'm just saying that I didn't notice a large difference in the flight performance with them. So if someone was looking for a large flight difference, save your $30 for something else.

If you are looking for more stable blades that don't change tracking over time, and have a small performance enhancement, then get the CF blades.

If you are learning to fly, save your money for more wood blades IMHO.

What about the crash factor on the carbons. Are they more likely to survive a "light" crash than the woodies. The Blades don't seem to incur much damage when crashed from out of a hover if you get the throttle and trim pulled back in time. Just wondering if the carbons may survive better. The woodies seem to get dinged up every time or at least the wrap gets cut.
