I'm going to be getting a voyager 50 soon and am wondering if the IMZ motor is worth getting over the OS 50. Is it really that much better than the OS?

I don't know, but I'm loathe to spend that kind of money on an engine. The OS run great. Hell, I have a TT .50 that runs as well as my friend's OS. The IMZ comes with a muffler for ~ $375. The OS will cost $175 + $40 for a muffler = $215. $160 almost buys a 401/9253 combo. However, I hear that the IMZ is awesome.

Go for the IMZ if you can afford it

o - Ultra smooth running
o - Pulls +12 degrees with no bogging even through hard manouvres at full collective
o - It is a work of art
o - Available for $300 if you shop around (drop me a mail and I'll pass on the details)

Downside is they recommend 30% nitro. Upside is it runs fine on 15%

I fly both engines and the IMZ crucifies the OS in terms of power, noise (what noise !!!), and smoothness. This despite the heli the OS is in being a pound lighter than the IMZ.

$300.00

I think the IMZ is available somewhere in the Phillipine...the guy by the name of Ramon or Leanard posted here sometime ago,at $299.00 its a deal for the 50. They just opened a hobby-shop and there is a promo going on,the phone # (632)439-6893 or the mobile phone(63)916-4876210.

Hi,

how much fuel does it need compared to the OS? (on 15 / 30%)

And what do you mean with noise, is it loud? Around here we can't fly with noisy engines...

Regards,

Andi

The IMZ is less thirsty than the OS. Marginally

Regarding the noise, it is very, very quiet. If any other model is up when I fly my Voyager I cannot here my engine at all. At tick over it is barely making a sound.

I agree with Carps. I love my IMZ. Quiet, smooth, powerful.
