Hmm neato notmany peeps use a Corona for camera apps so that is different. Curious why you would put a co pilot on it?? Just for picture taking stability?? Good job, looks like you did a neat and clean job on it.

it is working pretty well. corona can lift 4lb easily in my setup. totally upgraded head though. copilot was for piece of mind and ease taking picture.

Very cool man, you are the first I have seen to use the Corona for this application. Good job.

I stumbled upon two or three guys doing video from their Coronas way back in 2003. I was really impressed. (Check around this and other forums for their videos.) They made rudimentary camera mounts, not like the professional units of Kilroy and Askman, but they worked none the less. Now that I got FF and figure-8s down I am going to risk attaching a camera to my Corona as well. Can't wait to join the ranks. -Bob-

Hey Askman,

Your Corona's never fail to amaze me! Once again, wonderful job on the heli. Do you have an opinion concerning if there is a difference of quality between the swashplate you have, compared to the new one offered for the Corona?

Also, I'm finally near the end on building my Logo 10 3-D----I also have the FS8CPU co-pilot---after the installation of the FS8 reciever & related equipment, looks like it'll be done---if I run into any issue's with the co-pilot, do you mind if I email you?---I've always appreciated and valued your opinion----Thanks, Steve.

I am not the world expert on F8, but I will help if I can. it is rather complicated to setup, but not too bad once you've been through it.

swash wise, the BT swash is made by quickUK. it is very high quality., I have it on my CP prototype, and works well. one I have on this is eco 8 swash, and it also works well. (but heavier and more expensive compared to BT one)

I am pretty happy with my AP setup. i will be adding gimbal to it, but simplified version. I want the camera to be level to the horizon. I have an eco 8 crutch, so i may convert that with similiar AP mount when I have it all figured out. I may eventually make a few to sell, but not until I get it working perfectly...

Hey Askman,

Sounds great. Keep us updated with pictures of your projects, if you don't mind. Considering that I'll probably have some troubles with the co-pilot, I may be in touch soon. Thanks, Steve.

well, I've been working on new version of the camera mount I finished it. it came out about 100gm lighter(it came out at 140gm for the legs and 50gm for camera mount) it is also stronger and stiffer. I also finished my gimbals. check out www.askman.aerialsa.com I also did a design for other mini helis like eco 8 and eolo as well as trex.

for strength test, I decided to put my weight to the test. I calculated out the strength, and it came out really high, so it was safe bet. it withstood my weight with flying color. so as long as you come down straight, it will withstand a lot of abuse... I hope I don't have chance to test it.

I have two FP corona, (One setup as AP and another as flyer) and I have CP freestyle and building up second one. This latest version of my camera mount is the best design yet. I did some video, and it came out pretty nice.

love the copilot for going really high too.
