| The charger you have is probably perfectly OK for the battery you have. I expect the red light turns back green once the battery is charged. Based on the battery you have and the numbers on the charger its going to take just over 2 hours to give the battery a ful charge. If you're trying to save cash, the cheapest charger is the one you already have!
As has been mentioned by others, none of the really good chargers include a 110V input. I use a bench supply (13.2V 10A) for most charging in the workshop, but I sometimes use my 12V deep cycle battery, even in the 'shop (when 10A isn't going to be enough). If you get interested in high power electrics, you'll end up getting your own deep cycle battery. (Dont want to risk running the car/truck flat so it wont start do you? 2 charges on a big lipo pack will empty the average car battery, and starting batteries aren't design to be deep cycled, so you'll also kill the battery quickly). |
