Last night I put a set of 600mm Maveric glass blades on my JR Voyager 50. During the spool up I checked the blade tracking and it was pretty good but, does need a little adjustment, may be 1/4" off. But, here is my issue at about 75% throttle when the heli starts to climb hard I here a " droning " sound, like a bee hive makes. I confirmed the sound two or three times and it was always the same. I landed took the cover off but found nothing. Is it possible the blades are making this noise? I didn't have the wood ones to put back on to see what happens. Just before take off my blade RPM is 1560.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Mine makes a funny noise too. I think it has to do with the gears.

I had the same Noise with the Maveric blades what I found was that it was the Horiz Tail fin.
I took it off and no more noise.
My buddy however is running MS blades with the same noise.
He took his fin off and still has the noise we have traced it to the Vert fin as well.
I think it is just to flimsy.

Horizontal Fin??

I currently have it completely disassembled, I checked everything and found no problems, anywhere. The H-Fin sounds like a reasonable place to check. May be I'll try wraping the fin with tape or a few decals and see what happens. But, as you said this noise did not occure until I put the glass blades on it.
Thanks for the info.

Strange noise

Yep..... I got it too........and I sorted it.

Believe it or not it's the boom stabilizer causing it. Remove it and remove the plastic ends off the tube, clean it up then glue them back on with the best stuff you got. Refit and tighten up including the 2.6mm bolts holding things together.
This helps to prevent the boom from amplifying vibrations setup by the engine at a harmonic RPM the noise usually comes from the vertical fin.
The reason it started when you put on the better blades is the engine would have picked up a few RPM and put it in the harmonic range.

Hope this helps.

Coming together now.

Thanks for the Info guys. I am currecntly replacing all the bearings in the frame and will also put some extra reinforcement on the tail. When I get it back together I'll let you know how it goes.
