Field Box that I made and when I die I will be buried in!!

I made this Field Box a couple of years ago some people at the field call it a coffin!
I have looked at all the field boxes posted in here so far and my next box will take a few ideas from each.

Nice setup!

Fortunately now that all of my stuff is either electric or gas I don't have to haul everything around anymore...

Harbor Freight has some great boxes for radio/charging gear btw.

There are an impressive number of great looking field boxes here.
However, I'm regularly faced with the problem that when I think I've designed the ultimate box, something else comes along which will simply not fit. So, I'm left with the thought of starting the design all over again or simply using what I've got and pileing all the other new bits on the car seat.
The thought of having the ultimate field box to suit all my needs for the forseeable future is a great ideal but unfortunately, not realistic. What dyu fink ?

Yeh totally agree. Mine was real flash when I built it in 1978 but it looks like crap now. It's been through a few alterations as power panels have improved. Just can't seem to part with the old girl. If it could talk the bribes would cost a fortune to silence it.
I have revamped it on paper many times.

I'm the same. Design one box.. too small..design second..too big.
In the end i've got small cases. One for tools. Another for starting equipement, and another for parts, nuts & bolts etc. , and of course my 'Great Mate' flight stand.

No field box here.

Just the fuel jug and a (seldom used) tool box.

...no 12V battery,
...no 12V extension to car's battery,
...no starter,
...no glow heater,
...no glow heater battery,
...no Rx battery-checking devices.

Yep, I'm flying a gasser!

For the record, I'm also flying a Trex450, so when it goes to the field I also have to take the charger & spare battery. How inconvenient.

Best regards,
Bruno.

I uses 1 small size 12V battery for the glow. Mine is custom made after seeing one guy posting his with Aluminium material.

I can ask my friend to cut out the planks and you guys can assemblied yourself. Let me find out what is the cost and see if any of you guys are keen.

This is different from the ones at the above link. Mine house one JR9X2 radio

JAy jordan2:

I purchased this kit last week and started to put it together but it is not wide enough to handle a Dynatron Starter.

We're living in the age of miniaturization, the replacement gadget should be SMALLER than the one you had before. If it's larger you got the wrong one

Well here is my new fuel caddy. I took an old tool box that I had from my old hobby, and wired it up to be my new fuel caddy. It is not done yet still have some plumbing to do, but it is all wired up with a makita battery for the power source.

Thanks for looking, and thanks to STUPINEER for the help with step down regulator!

Here are some pics of my field box. It has 120v and 12v power from a Honda 1000 inverter generator. You can also use 120v from the club. It has GFI protection and fuses also. 120v under lid with 2 12v led lights controlled by the red switches. There is a Accu-Glow power panel mounted in the box below the handle. Plenty of power options are in this setup. Check it out.
