Rappy is right! Here in NZ it's the same thing! The magazine is full of rubber powered $2 free flight POS and very little helis (if at all) and even very little interesting power plank stuff (even though I don't fly them, I don't mind watching/reading about them).

It's got to the point where I think I'm going to start writing articles for them.

The magazine? I thought it was just an obituary. Seriously. It is pretty depressing. The one heli article got pulled this month it seems.

you guys need to grow up and learn a few things.
business facilities are just that, no matter "who pays the bills".
i, for one, would be highly dissapointed if they did allow use of their facilities in this maner.

Mark,

Obviously you didn't check the local hotels too well. LA Pittenger Center has a high speed connection. You would know this if you did a little research, but what can I say. Let me give you the number (765) 285-1555.

I don't expect companies to provide internet access for me when I travel, so why should you?

Mongo, considering the circumstances, they could have easily worked something else out. Like "burn us a cd each evening, and we will upload it, but can you pimp the ama site a little in return?". Instead they said "NO, and caused us all to rethink the value AMA is to us."

I have admined very large networks in the past, if I had a request like this I could have easily accomidated it in a safe manner.

You saved the day. I have changed my hotel reservation to LA Pittenger Center. Good price and the campus Ethernet connection is in the room.

Thanks
Mark

This is BS. What I am doing can only improve your bottom line.

Glad to help.

I don't know the configuration of AMA's network and I don't wish to know. I assume you would be using a laptop. In some networks, especially those with firewalls, proxy servers, etc... a certain amount of configuration would be required for your laptop. If there is a network login, you may have had to install the network client also, which means they would have to give you a username and password. I know I would not want to install a network client on my laptop if I didn't have too. Plus, to top all of this off, would the port be available at the times you needed it. If you need a connection at 8 p.m., I doubt if you would find many companies wanting to open themselves up to that much liability.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but there are several things to consider.

Anyway, I hope it all works out for you.

In response to Safe_Cracker, you may think I'm a smart _ss, but I got Mark what he needed, while you just whined.

I said that because....

You didn't have to respond the way you did.Who cares if he didn't spend all night looking for a room with access it didn't warrant the ignorance...
