Dear all,

A tail rotor blade shot out in my 1st test flight last evening !!!
The tail rotor blade broke clean sharp at the screw hole. Photo later.
Can find the 2 pieces inside home.
The 3mm steel tail shaft was torn to bend under high RPM & unbalance,
after close examination. Tail case anti-rotation stopper is broken also.
DIY drill a screw to fix it.


motor - Align RCM-BL400L (2500kv only)
pinion - stock 14T
flight pack - 3s 2200mAh
ESC - Hacker Master Heli 40-3P (60% GOV mode)


Amazing !
Shot out even at 2500kv + 60% GOV mode

Go back to manual, main:tail gear ratio = 1:5
It happened on first launch of T-REX.
Same hazardous problem in x400 again !!!

Call back to shop & they knew the same problem happened in others (HK).

Luckily, I always point my helis' tails out of myself at all time because nothing is 100% reliable.

Now, installed TREX's revised tail blades. x400's material for tail blade seems harder & high density but brittle.

Sincerely recommend x400 fliers to change tail blades NOW.

Still testing it.
It is quite Ampere eating even at 11T.
Need to try some other timing or config.

In Thailand we got the same problem for the first lot of X400. I brought X400 in 2nd lot and fly it around 2 mths and also keep checking around but noone report this problem on X400 2nd lot.

Tail Blade Failure

Hey Guys ..the same thing happened to me with the Tail Blade
going into my leg (I had shorts on)....A bloody mess,I emailed(w/Pics)
the Company That I purchased from,..But no reply yet....
This happened on the very first Hover...Also,my X-400 is a newer one,just recieved recently off of BackOrder

What is the preferred SAFE
repair for this situation...?????

Looks like more Trex parts are needed for the x400 . Its a shame to, because it's such a nice machine once it's flying, Ark need to hurry up and sort out these bugs.

My first TRex ditched a tail blade and a grip, its still in orbit somewhere, because it never came down!

If you give a Chimp a gun, and the Chimp shoots, DONT BLAME THE CHIMP!!!!

Hey Guys...I just wanted to put in a "Plug" for Ted of Tedani...that is where I purchased the Heli. and he was very concerned and replaced all of my damaged parts N/C...in additon to sending me some new "Non-ARK" tail blades...
He treated me fair and I would definately buy from him again..

same thing happened to me also, wasn't even flying, just running everything up on the ground, then off it comes, practically vibrated the tail case apart, busted the boss that goes in the hole at the rear of the tail boom so the tail case wont stay where it's supposed to be.

My x400 tail blades have been fine so far, I have had about 4 flights on them and they have been fine, I am taking no chances though, so I have taken them off and ordered myself some trex tail blades.

Same thing heppened to me like Flexdiesel.

But I suspect the cause is vice versa, the tail case wont stay where it's supposed to be.

I added a set screw to the tail case and I will test it again.

This evening just got my X400 all setup and about half way through the bat. the tail blades with the holders shot off the helicopter. Next time will check the screws holding this all together. Anyone else had this problem.

30 seconds into my madien flight my tail blade went south! Fortunately, I was only 1 foot off the ground and got it down OK. The white plastic on the heli is completely junk!!! Landing gears, Tail support ends and tail blades! Actually the entire heli has been one big disappointment my Trex is sooooooooo much better!

For those who still insist that the X400 is better.....try to look beyond the alloy frame....the rest of the heli is so much inferior. Now that the Trex XL is out then the X400 is not even in the same league as the Trex! My X400 is going to remain as a display model from now I can't even be asked t take it to the flying field!
