e-Ark X-400 - MX400 > Main Gear Out-Of-Round

Has anyone had problems with their main gears being out-of-round or wobbling? I have 3 sets of main gears (#4022-008 and #4022-009, all from 3 different kits) and all of them are messed up. Also, all 3 drive pullies (#4001-111) are crooked as well. Is this a common problem or what?

Where can I find good replacement parts?

I haven't been motivated enough to actually bother flying my X400 because of this problem! It makes the heli sound like a screeching toy!

Hi, I have the same issue on my kit. Horrible sound and free wheel is useless as everything is so tight...

Same problems - bought T-Rex gear - doesn't fit - too big but if you redrill holes and move stuff it will fit. I went ahead and flew the thing through several packs and the gear mesh is getting more uniform - I think it "rounds up" with use and sounds better after a while.

Mine isn't perfectly round, but it isn't stopping me from putting 2-3 packs a day on it.

You can re-drill the holes for the tail gear, however, you may find to get the right belt tension you also need to move the front boom mount back also...it all starts going into the "too hard category"!

My main gear is also off-centered. So is the tail belt pully in the main frame. Is there anyone who can make CNC-cut gear set for X-400? I am willing to pay premium price for that.

I'd be happy with good working stock parts. Does anyone know of a reputable X400 parts dealer that has parts in stock? Maybe the replacement parts are better.

Reputable parts dealers will simply be buying from the same source!

My spare main gear is ditto to the original one!

We can just hope that Ark will change the mould for the main gear....or Align come up with an optional smaller main gear for the TRex!
