Wayne,
Even though I don't fly Calibers, thanks for your post. A lot of it will apply to many of the other helis around.

I'd be very interested to hear your head setup as well.

Your ID1 curve is very high compared to what I'm used to. What manevours do you use ID1 for? The inside loop with half rolls as well? Do you get much overspeeding with this setup?

Thanks a lot for your info. It's very helpful.

One question: suppose I set up my throttle curve like yours with a pitch curve for calm wind condition, what is to be changed in the throttle curve for windy/gusty condition? In such condition, my pitch curve would be of greater slope. Should I keep the throttle between 40 to 55% from one quarter to three quarter stick?

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Wayne,
I use an OS 91 with a KSJ muffler in my CS which I use for FAI, and I'm pretty sure if I had an ID1 curve like your's she'd overspeed and the conrod would probably decide to retire out the side of the casing .

I do my loops in ID1, and if I have to 'pump them out' (ie go further into negative pitch than I normally would) to get them symmetrical, you hear the engine distinctly change note because it's in it's lower rev range. curve like yours, or a Governor would fix that though I suppose.

In the rolling stall turn + 540 stall turn, do you have different rudder rates, so that you don't 'overshoot' the 180 turn at the top of the rolling one, and then have enough tail power to do the 540 quick enough on the other side?

Thanks a lot, Wayne. Its an interesting use of the slider. I'll try that on my 9Z.

On the head modification, I guess the top FAI guys are having hard times to fly their Caliber in hovering manuvers so they modified the rotor system to the extent that suit their needs. Even I am not among the top, I feel the Caliber head is good at aerobatics but not at hovering manuvers(part of the problem may be on myself). It would be very helpful if you can share with me what can be done to improve the head especially to cope with gusty condition.

Thanks again for your help.
