I've got a UNi 60 with an OS 61SF 7h and since converting to the high tank position I have problems starting the engine. It is difficult to turn over and appears hydrolocked all the time. Could this be related to the new tank position? I have a filler valve that cuts off fuel to the carb when filling.

I've tried changing plugs.

Your better in the lower position... that is a much older engine (no longer used) and that carb is prone to what is happening. it will run fine in the lower position. its also a good idea to run a fuel filter inline on the pressure feed to the tank.

Thanks Sandy,

I'll change to the lower position for now. I think I will get a new engine as I'm putting the mechs into a Vario 222 body.

youre better off that way... the 61 rear exhaust WC (world champ) is very nice and smooth.... its night and day over the sfn.

run the wc on 30% wildcat , smokes very little and makes wads of power.
use an o.s. 8 plug and troubles are gone.
