| Would anyone here have relevant experience of this problem I am having with a CONCEPT 46VR with an MDS 48 engine.
With a total of just 3/4 of a tank, I have fairly destroyed two complete clutches, shoes, and fan: parts H3507, 3509, 3511.
I am pretty sure I have assembled everything correctly, especially the second set of parts. The symptoms were a strong smell of something nasty, a sudden increase in the amount of debris blowing out of the clutch, followed by the clutch bell melting away, allowing the shoes to spread and break. I caught it the second time and the shoes merely bent out of shape.
I wonder if there is a design or production fault in this kit. It seems to me the clutch slipped allowing everything to heat up and disintegrate. Would the gap be too great? Would the liner material be the wrong grade? Would the motor be too strong? Would this machine be too sensitive to rapid changes of power? Is the bell too weak and spreading under load?
Your experienced comments appreciated.
