Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Falcon SE with OS 50 and tuned pipe question

I just built my Falcon SE with an OS 50 and tuned pipe. I mistakenly bought the Century Speed Torpedo tuned pipe with header and coupler instead of the standard high performance tuned muffler.

My questions are : Is this tuned pipe going to be a Engine tuning nitemare or a performance improvement? Should I keep it??

The tuned pipe box says 46 to 50 size but the inlet (hole)on the header pipe (part that bolts to engine) looks kinda small. Should I hog this out with a die grinder?

I have no experience with tuned pipes (but I will say that it sure does looks cool mounted on the Falcon)

Thanks for any input

Is that you Don???

If so, I know we've had a hard time hooking up but give me a call.

No hogging out!!

Howdy!!!
Don't bore out that header pipe.. It is designed that way to give proper back pressure to the motor.. It will ruin the effectiveness of the pipe...
If you have never had the joy of fooling with a tuned pipe setup, now is as good a time as any to learn.. You may get lucky and have it run really well right off the bat.. I would go ahead and try it and if it does'nt seem to be working well, post the symptoms here and someone will tell you what you need to do.. In general, pipes make engines more finicky and more sensitive to needle adjustments.. Needle adjustments due to atmospheric changes are required more often.. There is a price for power, and that is the reason most folks run a muffler.. Good Luck..

I've never heard of a Century Speed Torpedo tuned pipe.

Century makes a Torpedo tuned muffler and a Millenium pipe.

Which is it?

The Torpedo muffler is known to be too restrictive. On the otherhand, I wouldn't mess with the Tuned pipe. It should work as is, although I haven't heard of anyone using it for the OS 50 yet.
