Jason is correct. There are numerous companies that will not ship to APO addresses. So we in the military are refused product based on our location. Normally the the fact is that the company has a shipping contract with some company like UPS or Airborne. This makes it inconvenient for them to go to the US Post office and mail the item to us GI's overseas.
To give you an idea of companies that discriminate the US Military stationed overseas they are:
Sony.com
Dell.com
Gateway.com
Buy.com and so on...
So no he isn't looking for something for nothing, he is simply looking for the ability to buy the same product you can get in the states.

hell, I never even asked for a discount....and I know of several companies that are more than willing to give away loads of free merchandise to those who put their lives on the line every day as a little "thankyou" for what we do....
