The #40 is different from the #35 - as far as I can tell from Walkera's site, quite different.

PZT and PLT knob explanation

Here is a short video with the effects of the PZT/PLT knobs. It's not very good, but I can't get it any better.

In essence:
PLT controls the servos range, and thus the collective range of the main rotor blades. In NORMAL mode only the upper half of this range is available, as the lower half will always be "mid-stick". In "1" mode, the full range can be set with this knob. The more you turn it clockwise, the more sensitive your heli will be.

PZT controls the "base". In normal mode, it pretty much defines if your heli takes off at mid stick or not. In "1" mode it operates slightly different: there it controls the whole lower pitch range.

My heli is set so it gets light on the skids at midstick, and takes off at about 2/3rd stick.

Keep in mind that this alone is not meant to be your whole trim... get the blade pitch right before you mess with these knobs.

Anyway, here is the video: http://www.ing.twinwave.net/home/he...PZT_and_PLT.wmv

Can 3-in-1 oil be used to lub the tail gears?

I would not..
because I used it for several things.. like my roller's in line bearings...
and yes, it is efficient, but I brings all dust stick exactly where you would not need it... and also anyway make black drops flying everywhere, even after "drying" place carefully...
so these king of oil, depend for what need...

If I recall correctly you should not use any oil/petroleum based lube on plastic gears.

help me - walkera 35 radio

Hi to all,
i'm writing from Italy because i have a problem with my walkera 35 equipped with brushless motor (walkera 3200).
First I wrong because i moved radio switches and now i don't remember orignal configuration. Then I changed servos with hitec hs 55 and the problem is this:
when i put dx stick (mode 2) ahead the ely doesn't go ahead and when i put stick behind ely doesn't go behind. I try to change channel one switch on radio but the situation doesn't change. What Can i do?
Actual configuration is:
1 on
2 on
3 off
4 on
5 off
6 off
7 off
8 off
9 off
10 off
I thank who could help me.

4 off
5 off
6 on
7 on
8 off
9 off
10 on

Check all screws

To JKNoell
That was good advice to check all screws before rotating. I went through all I could see, but learned of a couple that are difficult to see.
There are 2 screws on the tail rotor T piece, which hold the blades on, and are fastened by an allen key. It means removing the blades via the phillips head screws to get at them.
One blade flew off because the screw was loose (both were loose). Fortunately the heli was in my hand as I was checking it out and nothing broke. The heli is just a week old and not flown above about 6 to 8 inches high yet. The #35 seems to be a good little machine but it needs to be better prepared at the factory. I've had to spend a lot of time just adjusting things to stop it from doing crazy manouvres before liftoff. I aggree that the booklet gives nowhere near enough info, but this site does. One question:- on the Gyro there are 2 switches one for tail lock and the other is not labelled what are they supposed to do, both are set to the left. I am new to this hobby so pardon my ignorance.
Great site, the videos of the #35 prove it flies, hope mine will a few times before I crash. I have a few more questions but this will do for now. Hope you're not all in bed as it's just 09:19 here in OZ.

Instead of feelig sorry for yourself you take your God given talents write them down in an e- book with great pictures and clear instructions to help us wanna be's. Ten bucks is pocket change. So David I'm sorry for not posting this soonest ,but I'm busy reading the book. I ordered fresh parts to start over. I'm waiting for a gear for my brushless motor and would like to do everything at the same time. Dave the book is great and i thankyou very much!

Not much flying for me lately, thus not many updates. I've been flying the shogun foam blades for a bit, and replaced the main motor yesterday.

Besides, if you feel there should be more info in the first post - feel free to tell me what you'd like added. Keep in mind though that the review is for the #35, which really is a lot different than the #40. Main gear drive, tail motor and so on are all different. Especially beware the DIP switches on your TX - they are ALMOST DEFINITELY going to be different. Your #40 needs an electronic mixer, whereas the #35 does not. One of the DIP switches controls that if I recall correctly.

I flew the 35# with a fully charged 11.1V, 2200MAH lipo battery, it didn't last more than 5 minutes before it dropped like a rock from hovering. Is this what I can get out of a 11.1V 2200MAH lipo battery?

I wonder what other people get for the fly time out of a 1900/2200MAH lipo battery.

David,

for your information, as I wrote there, I was wondering about how big it would be if I would need to download.
I guess it is not so stupid question I asked..
for now, you answered me there (you could answer to my email asking repeatidly . .. ) that you plann to send CD-Rom. .
So of course, is ok like this !
And see. . . I paid this auction . . ..
thanks for understanding . . ;-)

And really, much many thanks for your help and good advices ! to you and all people there anyway, always ready to help !
Best regards to all, and good flights !!
