I've got both heads and they seem identical, every body told me to bail and get a raptor,I would have spent the money to buy a raptor by now and you can get bits.
The cyclone 1 and 2 collective linkage train has a LOT more slop like 2.5-3.5mm at least, this from new condition, the worst bit is the sleeve which straddles the base of the mast,I feel a lot of it's slop, like 3/4 could be taken out if you made up a bearing assy for this bit where it rotates in the side frames.
The swash plate has offset balls.not much you can do about that,Ray suggests in his old testament that this is not too much of a issue
I'm slowly swapping all the Z bends for ball links and replacing all the rest.
Unfortunatly the tail rotor pitch change assy is quite sloppy and has a tapered 22-20mm boom.
YSRRider if you think the tail belt is the same as something current I'd be thrilled to know!!!
Bugster if you decide to run a cyclone and your as unco-ordinated as I am you need/want all the blades, booms, complete tail assys ,belts, mainshafts and plastic main gears you can get your hands on.
You maybe want servo/ radio gear mount, complete head assy(meat and three veg ) .The side frames are fairly resilient,Ive tried throwing my cyclone at the ground at ~ 45 mph with the disk at a vertical (yes)attitude on its right side pirroetting at ~2 times a second at a approach angle of ~35 degrees to the ground, didn't appear to bother the side frames,I've still got 2 spares-flat type drive belt not tightened enuf I had ~3-5mm deflection at the front, DO NOT operate a cyclone with this system, tail failure is VERY scarey ,I have the cyclone 2 toothed belt system now.
Id be interested in any boom and belts if they look good that you don't want.
You must check that you have the "autorotation update modification" as written in my factory cyclone 1 manual as one of my "spares"machines I have appears to have NO auto bearing but it is a Cyclone 1
Havn't managed to damage the clutch/fan stack yet but currently I'm thinking of changing the shoe bearing material to a piece of brass as I'm currently having a continuing wee problem with this bit binding a bit and not releasing on slowing down, makes the heli wow wow on decents
I'm having a ball learning to fly it!! currently making kindling out of my blades for the fire learning how to auto! .
This place is a wealth of info and energy-awesome.
