32-3 actro snapped
Just flew my ion with actro moter was flying great then after about 3min. I started doing some tic-tocs and the small thredded shaft that holds the main pinion gear to the moter snapped at the moter housing flush. Has this happened to anyone elese or did I do something wrong? Note I was very careful in lining up the moter so everything would be true. Thanks Bill(lucky) Squillace

No I have not heard of this happening to anyone
I have been running a 32-3 for 5 months now and no problems yet
I would give Chris at MA a call and talk to him about to see if he has heard of this happening

nick,

you double posted this, I already replied on the other thread.

Yes, it happened to me as well. I had probably 100 flights on mine before it snapped. Same as you, I go thru alot of time and trouble to make sure alignment and gear mesh is good. I really like this motor, but it does seem that that bolt needs to be a little larger, or something is happening to the steel when the pinion adapter is being cut.

I had to take my motor to a machine shop to get the broken bolt out, fortunately no damage to motor or ESC.

Chris???

Heli version. It mounts with a single threaded shaft in top of motor, not a hub like the airplane version.

Although I don't agree with the vulgarity, I completely agree with the message.

Chris was one of the really good guys. He provided *SUPPORT* on this MA related fourms and was not giving any of that marketing crap that so many of the guys who got booted off before were guilty of. Sure Chris may have answered *QUSETIONS* on un-released products, but never did he come on here to push any product of give us any of that MY PRODUCT ROCKS useless drival that alot of guys on RR that support other product post. Also, BTW, all of Chris's support was on his on free time, not during work hours, Tim wouldn't let him spend time on the forums during work. The only thing Chris is guilty of is being a MA employee, not violating any of the RR rules.

I never supported the heli-freak guys when they left or the way they left, actually a couple of them I was glad to see go, but Mark's anti-MA stance on RR is really hurting RR in terms of those of us that only fly MA. If MA support is un-welcome here, Mark should be upfront and just say it, remove the MA related forums and if that is true that I am really wasting my time on RR anymore.

One thing the heli-freak guys did prove is that there is life after RR.

Until MA steps up to the table with responsible management that recognizes RR’s policy then all bets are off. RR will not be strong armed by anyone. MA has chosen to fight RR until something breaks. So be it.

Current examples show MA purposely sending out its workers to challenge core policy. These challenges are created for the sole purpose of controversy. The challenges have even induced a physical threat against me. There is recorded proof that a MA worker was privy to the threat.

RR welcomes all, as long as policy is respected. As with any environment if policy breaks down anarchy ensues.
