If you go over to the project website and look through the SVN list, it doesn't look like they've had any project activity since about April 27th.

This doesn't mean that they aren't working on it, it just means that they haven't submitted any changes to source control for a while. Usually, with a multiple developer project, you would see daily or weekly submits.

Well, I don't know about you Vitek, but so long as I can fly, I tend to want to go and fly in my free time.

Hobby coding (such as Collective) seems to be more of an 'off season' kind of thing.

Of course, it could also be that the people involved simply lost interest. I'm sure you know better than most that writing a good simulation isn't an easy thing to do. Getting that simulation to perform in real time; that's down right heroic.

I can't speak for the other group members, but I havn't lost interest, just been unusually busy. I just graduated college and started a job at Boeing working on their F-18 sim team. I'm still in temporary housing, looking for an apt. in the St. Louis area. By early next year I should be settled and ready to give this project some serious attention.

If you are looking for a place to live STAY AWAY FROM NORTH CITY. You won't like it up there. South city isn't bad. Pretty much the farther south in the city the better. St. Charles is nice, but expensive. Same with west county/Ballwin area.

Thanks for the advice I'm probably going to live on the IL side because my wife will be going to school at SIUE.

I would certainly like to see this project get going again. I am a diehard linux user and the only thing I still do in windows in realflight. I tried getting it working with cedega and it didn't work . Looking for the day I can delete my windoze partition for good.

I highly recommend Mandrake Linux for a first-time linux user. It has a very simple installation process and good driver support.

I've been following this for a while. When do you expect a release? I know that it's a lot of time consuming work and don't expect it too hurry up and be done. I also understand that it takes a lot of work.

Thanks for try to do this.

I still don't see anything on the project website collective (apart from the names of the three developers)?

would anyone show me where to look for the "collective.cfg" sample?
I got one from the project but I'd like to look for others. I followed the link in the file but that link is dead.
I was able to compiled and run on my PC but the controller is not working (using my Tx) I'm guessing I don't have the cfg file setup correctly.
Thanks

The controller is actually not configured through the collective.cfg file yet.

However, you can change it by pressing "ESC" in the simulator and changing your transmitter type.
There are also some bars in that screen that shows you how it interprets the output from the transmitter, so if everything is working, they should be moving when you're moving the sticks.

What OS are you running it under?

(Oh, and no, collective is not quite dead)

I considered it dead a couple of years ago. It simply hasn't had any recent changes in the version control system, which is a pretty good indication that absolutely nothing has been done on it.
