e-Miniature Aircraft Furion - Razor - Ion-X > Question for Chris. Can I use a 30" tail boom w/ 700 blades?

If I wanted to use a 30" tail boom on my Ion-X, could I still SAFELY use 700mm blades (i.e. without worrying about main rotor and tail rotor colliding)? I'd like to use as short a boom as possible for this heli, but still want to be able to use 700mm blades, safely.

No, I wouldn't. 31.5" yes, but not a 30".

maybe if you used 95mm tail blades? And is the ION the place MA found to use all those old 30" booms?

Well, actually the Ion-X is shipped with 95mm tails and those are the only length recommended for it. It comes with a 33" boom...same as the Extreme and Tempest.
