The more I think about it, a RunRyder chat room would be a big mistake. It could promote bad blood and then that would spill over into the forums. I have set up a fairly rapid fire way of discussing our hobby with the custom core RunRyder forum software. Having to account for what you say has a strong self policing effect.
"Personal attack" bwahahaha you just crack me up man. Just in case anyone is wondering, I visit a chat room that Jon "moderates" and get kicked more than a soccer ball at the world cup. I just couldnt help myself when i saw "one big free for all without moderation".

one thing that is nice about the forums vs chat room is that it becomes a searchable database of useful info.
All that would be lost in a chat room environment.

Ok... you're the boss. I just miss talking real time like on the old RCO, those times were a blast, plus info (both good and bad) could be exchanged quickly.
Plus, I think it would be a good way to get all those Guests registered.
Maybe sometime in the future, I'll request it again if that's ok?
Oh BTW, maybe you can consider having a way the original poster of the thread be able to CLOSE the thread. I think it would be a good feature.

How about a chat room, but you have to be a due's paying member to get in. Basically the same as the gallery's and picture up-loading.

If someone was a bad guy, they would not follow the rules because he/she would know that they are not enforced. There are enough good members on the board that could be appointed as mods on the chat.
