The topic title pretty much says it all. Check out this video.

I just thought I'd put the link in "Saftey" for others to see before they considered flying in a neighborhood.

Well, that was some pretty weird flying, kid. If you think theres not something wrong with that, well... i rest my case.

The video is hilarious, but could have been really bad.

Yeah very close call, just imagine what that blade would have done to flesh, I mean it put a two foot long trench in his garden, and flesh isnt as tough as the ground, so you can imagine the results of it hitting a person

GWAllace, i can assure you i NEVER flew anything like that, foo shield or not, that is dangerous. I learned how to hover on the real thing, then practiced lots on the sim. i know that is backwards but i didnt have the sim at first. I never had any close calls like he did, out of control flight, or crash. Ive never crashed. I can hover in one place, and stay there, do piros, and still be in the same place. I can do a little forward flight, but i save most of that for the simulator, i havent really had a chance to get down to my park this year yet, as the weather still been ****. i still in the backyard till it gets better weather, then i will go to the park and try some forward flight, i should be able to do slow circuits and 8's, i can hover inverted, do sloppy piro flips, backwards circuits, etc on the sim.

Now of course i dont actually sell the foo shield, its a joke. Man its just when you gonna fly the heli, get behind some stuff, garbage cans work well, and then get i big piece of plexi and hang that up so yo can look through it and you got yourself a pretty decent hovering practice bunker. When i do it at the park i stand behind the baseball field backstop, its a pretty high chain link fence, it would protect me from the heli coming at me at pretty much and angle, except straight down, or of course behind me. but since i keep my flight very controlled and slow i doubt that will be a problem.

The video is very funny, but that dosent do justice how dangerous and stupid it is, i wonder if that guy even realises what would have happend had he given it a little more collective, and not hit the ground but hit him. And what was he doing so close to that big tree, lol, thats what i thoguht the crash would be about when i first put the video on.
