The Hoverstar is a fixed pitch helicopter that was introduced a few years ago that could work with a .40 something size airplane engine and a standard 4 channel radio. It went out of business a couple of years ago. You can still find them every once in a while on
E-bay but there are no parts suppliers for them.

thanks for the info but I could have told you that already. I still need some parts for the damn thing though. I've yet to really fly it.

What parts do you need? The local hobby shop in my town still has a box of parts for the HoverStar. I'm not sure what's there but I know he has some parts. I can get you in contact with them if you would like.

Horizan hobby still has some parts! I have one in the basement for parts. I was going to make a mail box out of it

Hiorizon told me that they have some glass blades that they sell the hell out of and they did not say weather they would fit or not. They were quick to tell me "sorry" and "we can't help you" Then I pointed out "you still have parts listed on you web site!!" The next day some of the parts were changed as to the availibility.
Thanks for the info.

Q-Bert,

I'll call the shop today and see if he has blades in stock. I know he had some Revolution blades at one point but I'm not sure if they were HoverStar Blades.

Hoverstar

If you are really interested in learning to fly I would get a durable, reliable helicopter. Like a Shuttle ZXX or Raptor. The Hoverstar is a piece of junk! The component quality stinks.

Just my opinion!

Ralph;
I've bought a nexus 30 and just need some electronics for it. The hoverstar was an older aqquistion and never really got to fly it on account of not having any spare parts. I've been searching for spare blades but no luck.

I would just put it on ebay and use the money to help get what you need for the nexus.

Bill;
That will probbably be what happens as soon as I get the gimble seat and the servo back from Horizon. Then I can finish setting it up and snap some pics. and post it there on E-Bay. Do you know what they have sold for in the past?

I do not have an exact amount that they sold for in the past, I do know it was more than I would ever pay for one.

Maybe the main blades for the MFA Sport 500 would work on your Hoverstar. Check www.hobby-lobby.com You may have to e-mail or call them, as the Sport 500 is there, but hidden. There's a good reason for that, too!

If I remember right

The kit was in around U$200 or so, add U$75 engine, U$100 avionics.
Subtract 50% for being used.
Subtract 75% for no parts availability
this comes out to U$48 worth of obsolete parts.

Add on ebay factor and you may get up to U$275 for it.

PS, you can use any same length wood blades with matching root and blade bolt sizes that need to be build up. Don't install the lead weights in the blade tips because it's a fixed pitch heli and doesn't need inertia in the blades.

The problem is: I've been everywhere I can go and everybody says "sorry" I really feel like the boy on A Christmas Story who is allways told "You'll Shoot your eye out kid". Nothing but a dead end on finding blades. I will check out hobby lobby and see about the measurement on those blades.
why is it hidden??

Q_Bert,
The Sport 500 is another heli that should never have made it to production. I had one (check my gallery pics) and did learn to hover with it, but it took much more perserverence and repair than was necessary with any of the current collective "plastic fantastics." I do have a spare set of MFA blades with measurements of 444.5mm x 44.5mm you can have for the price of shipping, $5.

HoverStar

A brand new HoverStar and all the trimmings were delivered to my bench last week.
This includes the JR NEJ 130, TT .46, JR 400 and a pristine box.
I will be painting the canopy today as the owners plan to learn to fly it.
Comments?
