Considering buying the Tiger 50 heli from Audacity Models (ARF version). Article seen in MHW - March2005.

Does anyone have any comments on the model or experience of mail order from these guys?

Thanks

TIGER 50

I have read a few posts about it, and it sounds like it is a good piece of kit, and the best bit is the price it is very inexpensive.

I have got a bit bored with not flying since december, so i thought i would buy somthing inexpensive to build so i ordered one last week.

Living in the u/k it will probably be a couple of weeks till it arrives.
I have got all my gear ready to fit
OS hyper 50 with muscle pipe
JR 811 servos ccpm and throttle
JR 8700 g servo on tail
JR 700 pcm receiver.

Cheers

It's a great heli!! Very smooth and great quality for the money. You'll see it compared to the Robbe Ornith, while it's shares similar parts, the Tiger is actually a 50 and the Ornith a 30. Compare specs of rotor diameter and length and you'll see the difference. I would suggest getting the 3D seesaw, flybar and paddles to speed up the cyclics. I've been happy with mine when I'm not having gyro and engine issues!!

Nice ship

I would buy it over the JR venture or robbe ornith. Might get one myself to play with one day.

I really like the Tiger. What makes this heli much better than the Robbe Ornith is the fact that the Tiger has thrust bearings in the head. And as others has mentioned its a very inexpensive heli to both buy and repair so it will give you way more confidence in learning new manouvers. I would recomend getting the 3D paddles and 3D seassaw for it if you are going to be doing extreme 3D with it. but she flys great stock, extremely stable in a hover, this model would be a great trainier that could grow with the pilot. This is basically a heli for anyone. Try one, you wont be disappointed. For more information PM me.

audacitymodels (tiger50)

I love my tiger. It is a great heli and it has the power of a (90). I have about 40 flights on my tiger. I have the 3D seasaw and 3D paddles and it is very fast . Just lost a servo last week and it hit the ground hard knife edge. The crash cost me about $ 75.00, all because a futaba 9252 servo stopped working in the air.

I encourage anyone looking for a low cost 50 helicopter to invest in a Tiger.

All parts are and future upgrades are sold through Audacitymodels. Not sure what the plan is for other vendors though. Email John Beech.

have your local hobby shop contact Audacity Models and they will work with you and the LHS to get parts and kits. This model is getting more and more popular everyday, so I wouldnt be surprised to see it being sold in other places within the next year or so.

I am new to the Helicopter world, I can't brag to much about the way the Tiger 50 flies (because I don't know how to fly them yet) but I have NEVER received better treatment in my life than I have from Audacity Models. I've had several conversations with the GM of Audacity Models the past couple of days and I must tell you, I was treated like royalty.

P.S. I have ordered Real Flight G3

I saw the review in MHW , and what really struck me was that it looks like someone thought about cooling , the blades on the fan are actually curved the right way !

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Hotwings, my son and I have been field reps for Audacity since last November, we've tried 3 different carbon blades. The Thunder Tiger 600 black/white, the Rotortech 600's and V-blade 600's

The Rotortechs have the longest auto capability, the V-blades and TT blades flew about the same. if your looking for a good flying blade the TT600's are the cheapest and allow precise hovering and are 3-D capable for almost 1/2 the price of the v-blades.

Foxden,
I recently became a Field Rep in the CT area.
The blades we received were from Audacity, I can't wait to see what John picked.
I have about 3 gallons through my Tiger now, still impressed with every flight.
